A Donegal Deputy has called for student renters to be given protection during the pandemic.
Deputy Thomas Pringle told Minister Simon Harris that students shouldn t be out of pocket for Covid-related accommodation.
Speaking in the Dail during statements on clauses in the residential tenancies bill to protect student rents, Deputy Pringle told Minister Simon Harris this is a huge issue for students from Donegal.
He said while a range of measures were introduced to protect renters, students have fallen through the cracks: ....

Farmers on peatlands and wetlands are up in arms over plans to impose new rules in the next CAP which they believe threaten farmers’ “ability to exist” on these lands.
In a letter sent to Minister for Agriculture Charlie McConalogue, the Irish Natura and Hill Farmers Association (INHFA) has demanded a change to draft legislation to allay farmers’ fears.
A new Good Agricultural and Environmental Condition (GAEC 2) will impose additional requirements on those farming peatlands and wetlands to receive a direct payment. ....
