CONTROVERSIAL increases to car parking charges will be coming into force in two weeks. All-day charges at council owned car parks in West Bay and Lyme Regis are set to rise by quadruple the current price, going from £2 to £8 beginning on Thursday, April 1. The council says these changes are being implemented to bring West Bay and Lyme Regis in line with other seaside towns in Dorset. Both areas have not seen an increase in the fee since 2014. The announcement of the price hike garnered huge amounts of criticism when first announced in October - with many business owners, employees and residents believing it is unfair to see such a large increase at one time. ....
Bridport Town Council is set to finalise its response to Dorset Council s Local Plan draft next week and council representatives say they will seek the best for Bridport . The town council s planning committee will hold a virtual meeting on Monday, February 22 to review a draft response to a consultation being carried out by Dorset Council on the Local Plan. The council will also be producing a video highlighting the issues for the Bridport area, which will be released to residents. The Dorset Council Local Plan sets out planning policies and allocations to meet the needs of the whole of the Dorset Council area from 2023 until 2038, covering issues such as housing, employment, the environment, transport and economy. ....
4 min read The Lafayette County Board of Supervisors unanimously voted on Jan. 19 to place a marker dedicated to lynching victims on the grounds of the Lafayette County Courthouse. The marker is estimated to be placed around September or October, according to April Grayson, a member of the Lynching Memorialization in Lafayette County steering committee. The marker will have the names of seven Black men who were lynched in Lafayette County, and it is the result of advocation from the steering committee a group of local citizens committed to telling the stories of lynching victims and the Equal Justice Initiative, a legal aid organization that seeks to reframe the narrative around racial justice. ....

(5 out of 5 stars) Revolution is what I consider to be a highly enjoyable collection of short little pop songs. While the creative juices were running high for the band on this album, it s the way the melodies roll off so enjoyably that makes the music on this record so great. The album kicks off with an almost Beach Boys-like Him or Me- What s It Gonna Be? It s of course, very melodic, just like the rest of side one. Am I crazy, or does the song Make It With Me feature a guitar riff very similar to the Black Sabbath song Tomorrow s Dream? Okay, I understand Paul Revere fans and Sabbath fans are quite different and probaby wouldn t know if there s any truth to Sabbath possibly ripping off that riff for their 1972 album Volume 4. I LOVE the way this album closes with a song called I Hear a Voice (sorry, I don t have this album on CD with the bonus tracks, I have the original record). The song has such a heavenly calm feeling to it. GREAT way to end a very g ....
