17 people were arrested Saturday by Tye Police after two different human smuggling busts. The first group had nine immigrants plus the smuggler. Drunk Driver Arrested After Causing Extensive Damage
ABILENE, TX After going on an extensive drunk driving spree, 27-year-old Christopher Bateman was arrested by Abilene Police officers. According to APD, Bateman was intoxicated while he allegedly hit cars and damaged property. According to witnesses, Bateman appeared to be traveling at least 60 mph when he struck a mailbox and kept going. He swerved off hit our curb and just missed my car that was parked in the driveway, said Mike Andino. The tire marks left by Bateman led to a carport across the street. In his drunken stupor, he grazed it and caused damage. ....
DUI crash leaves woman paralyzed A driver involved in a single-vehicle, rollover crash in early November that left a Perry woman paralyzed from the waist down was charged last week with multiple DUI violations, including DUI with property damage and causing serious injury to another person. David William Cochran Jr. – who was found to have methamphetamine in his system at the time of the crash – was booked at the Taylor County Jail on Thursday, Jan. 14, on charges of DUI and property damage, DUI and serious bodily injury to another, DUI (alcohol or drugs), failure to register motor vehicle, driving with suspended license and contempt of court. ....
