A 45-year-old woman from Victoria has become the first person in the Northern Territory to receive an immediate fine for refusing to wear a face mask at the Darwin International Airport.

An expansion of social and affordable housing is urgently needed to avoid a fresh housing affordability crisis as new figures confirm Australia is in the middle of a new real estate boom.
According to the latest CoreLogic report released today, Sydney home prices surged by 3.7 per cent in March, the fastest monthly rise in 33 years.
There were similar increases across the country with property prices jumping 2.4 per cent in Melbourne and Brisbane, 1.5 per cent in Adelaide and 1.8 per cent in Perth.
Prices have increased by 3.3 per cent in Hobart in the past month, 2.3 per cent in Darwin, 2.8 per cent in Canberra and 2.8 per cent nationally. ....

Police lay charges over property offences in Darwin area
Northern Territory Police have charged a youth in relation to a multitude of property offences around Darwin and Palmerston.
The 17-year-old female was arrested in Malak yesterday, for a number of property offences that had occurred between 21 and 31 March 2021.
A search of her person resulted in the recovery of stolen property and the seizure of drugs.
After being taken into custody the youth allegedly attempted to escape from police but was apprehended immediately.
Strike Force Trident members have charged her with:
1 x Aggravated unlawful entry
1 x Stealing
2 x Unlawfully possess property ....
