A political action committee called Marlington Forward recently purchased advertising space in the Alliance Review criticizing three of the five Board of Education members. Marlington Forward takes a critical view of some decisions. Reopening Marlboro Elementary, according to Marlington Forward, put a financial burden of more than $2 million on the district. LEXINGTON TWP. Michael Shreffler is receiving a new three-year contract to remain superintendent of the Marlington Local School District. With a unanimous vote Thursday by the Board of Education, Shreffler was approved for a contract that will run from Aug. 3 of this year until July 31, 2024. He has been interim superintendent for the past several months. It will be my pleasure to serve the district and people of the district for the next three years, and maybe more, Shreffler, 53, said. I am very excited to stay at Marlington. We are making progress. Under the new contract, Shreffler s annual salary will be $145,000. He pointed out this salary will be his total pay. There will be no additional pay as was the case with his predecessor, Joseph Knoll. ....
