EDMONTON Two people have been arrested after an investigation by the Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team (ALERT) led to the seizure of over $300,000 worth of methamphetamine and fentanyl in a north Edmonton home, according to police. The arrests were made on May 11, with help from the Edmonton Police Service, in north Edmonton s Lake District area. According to an ALERT news release, the following was seized: Loaded handgun with its serial number defaced Rifle 521 grams of fentanyl $13,000 cash Jesse Thomson, 29, is facing 17 charges including possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of crime, and 14 firearms-related offences. ....

These are just some of the state-of-the-art, and sometime unique, elements that went into recently completed academic facilities designed to meet the world’s most rigorous standards for energy performance and sustainable construction techniques. College of the Atlantic in Bar Harbor built the 29,000-square-foot Davis Center for Human Ecology to passive house standards with a goal of achieving at least 80% reduction in energy consumption versus comparable code-compliant construction. “It uses human beings as part of the energy and heat production,” says the college’s president, Darron Collins. “We want people in the building, because every person is a little 100-watt bulb walking around.” ....

Frank Peter Littlehale. PORT CLYDE Frank Peter Littlehale, 79, passed away on December 21, 2020, peaceful at his home. Frank was born on the eighteenth of May in 1941, to Fawne B., and Phyllis M. Littlehale, his loving and devoted parents. After school Frank was drafted into the Army, at the age of twenty-five, and found himself stationed many places, including Germany. He was an incredible veteran of the US Army and was well recognized for his service during the Vietnam Era. A true man of courage, Frank faithfully served his country until he returned home to Port Clyde in the early nineteen seventies. ....
