WSU launches system-wide website for military-affiliated students | WSU Insider

Washington State University has launched a new website designed to serve military-affiliated students across the university’s six campuses.
The WSU Veterans and Military-Affiliated Students homepage is the first of its kind, with the university formerly relying upon several websites to communicate with military-affiliated students on separate campuses.
The intention behind the new website is to unite WSU’s web assets relating to veteran and military-affiliated students, leading users to system and campus-specific information from a central location.
“The idea was to create an online ‘home base’ of sorts where current and future military-affiliated Cougs can get important information about educational benefits and other issues,” said Jaime Nolan, associate vice president for Community, Equity, and Inclusive Excellence. “The campuses still have separate websites, but now we have a site for military-affiliated students on all campuses too.” ....

The Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art invites students and their families to view the work of Master of Fine Arts candidate Stephanie Broussard in person during its annual MFA Thesis Exhibition.

National protests inspired Black Faculty and Staff Association to be an agent of change | WSU Insider

Along with millions of Americans across the country, Multicultural Student Services Advisor Sylvia Bullock was glued to her television last summer when protests erupted across the nation following the death of George Floyd.
Floyd was one of many Black citizens who lost their lives last year at the hands of police, and for Bullock, it served as a stark reminder that injustice against Black people is still prevalent in the United States.
Moments like these tend to bring about feelings of hopelessness among people and Bullock, who serves as president of WSU’s Black Faculty and Staff Association (BFSA), certainly shared those feelings. Then, on June 1, she read a letter addressing the injustices, that was signed by 18 WSU leaders across the system. The letter inspired her to take action. ....
