AIIB to finance Wasa’s two mega projects LAHORE: Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) has agreed to finance Wasa’s two mega projects. This was revealed by Managing Director Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) Syed Zahid Aziz here on Monday after an online meeting with the delegation of Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank at Wasa head office. Director P&D Abu Bakar Imran and Director Construction Zeeshan Bilal were also present on the occasion. He said during the meeting, two mega projects of Wasa i.e. Surface Water Treatment Plant and Larix Colony Project were discussed and plans were made to complete the projects as soon as possible. Representatives of AIIB participated in the meeting from Beijing and discussed the pace of these projects in the meeting, he said. MD Wasa said that completion of both the projects will help save groundwater and make the climate clean. ....

Lahore February 5, 2021 LAHORE:Water and Sanitation Agency (Wasa) needed financial assistance of around $50 million for implementing a sustainable solution to replace and upgrade Lahore’s overall drainage and water systems to solve the existing problems. This was told by Wasa’s Managing Director Syed Zahid Aziz on Thursday during an online meeting with the World Bank’s IFC Wing. The meeting was held to discuss Wasa’s plan of upgrading water supply and drainage systems of the provincial metropolis. Agency’s MD told the meeting that a financial assistance of $50 million was required to upgrade the system. Syed Zahid Aziz told the World Bank’s delegation that ample opportunities were available for international banks to invest in water projects in Lahore. ....
