The Drabkin/Gunnison Quartet


Saxophonist Harry Drabkin is a Berklee College of Music graduate as well as a faculty alumni where he performed in the Recording Band, Faculty Jazz Ensemble and more. His influences come from Miles, Coltrane, Cannonball and Charlie Mariano. He recently retired as Chief of Oncology at the Medical University of South Carolina and returned to Denver where he is active in our local jazz scene.
Denver jazz legend Eric Gunnison was raised in a musical family in Buffalo, NY and attended Berklee College of Music in Boston, graduating with a BA in music composition in 1979. He lives in Denver where he has been a mainstay in the music scene for 19 years. Eric has toured and recorded with the iconic jazz vocalist Carmen McRae, and trumpeter Ron Miles. In addition, he has performed in concert with Dizzy Gillespie, James Moody, Phil Woods, Bobby Shew, John McNeil and Eddie Gomez. Since 1991 Gunnison has also been the pianist and a composer/arranger for the cooperative band Convergence – ....

As a COVID-19 outbreak continues in New Brunswick’s Edmundston region, some are asking whether the Atlantic provinces should reconsider the reopening of the Atlantic bubble, scheduled for next Monday.
Nova Scotia’s picturesque Peggys Cove has withstood the highs and lows of the COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on tourism.
The owner of its gift shop and restaurant believes the first step to draw more visitors again is to reopen the Atlantic bubble.
I think it’s good that it was announced early,” says John Campbell owner of the Sou Wester Restaurant and Gift Shop. “I think it’s good that it’s starting now and we just got to hope that it doesn’t get shut down.” ....
