The Amphi School District Wins One Round In Court, But More Legal Challenges Lie Ahead.

THE AMPHITHEATER School District won a round last week
when Pima County Superior Court Judge John M. Quigley ruled that
real estate broker Bill Arnold did not have a conflict of interest
when he served as Amphi s exclusive agent.
Former Pima County supervisor David Yetman had sued the school
district, alleging that Arnold s contract, which allowed him to
negotiate his fees with the sellers of the property, created a
de facto conflict of interest for Arnold.

NUACS students learn history lesson | News, Sports, Jobs

NEW ULM New Ulm Area Catholic School (NUACS) students received a history lesson in Harman Park from members of the New Ulm Battery.
Students in kindergarten through seventh grade took a field trip to Harman Park Thursday and met with members of the New Ulm Battery. The students were able to learn about different aspects of history surrounding the battery.
Bryce Stenzel as Abraham Lincoln taught the kids about the history of the Civil War. Joe Hoffmann gave a detailed breakdown of the uniforms worn during the war. Bruce Olson talked about the history of the U.S. Dakota War that led to the creation of New Ulm Battery. John Fritsche told students about the New Ulm Battery and its history. The students even had a demonstration on how to work the battery’s cannon. ....

Vendors and visitors were anxious to return to the New Ulm Trade Fair and Living History event this weekend. This was the 40th Annual New Ulm Trade Fair and a chance for people to return to the historic tradition after a difficult year.
NEW ULM Visitors to the New Ulm Events Center were able to travel back in time to the frontier period this weekend with the New Ulm Trade Fair and Living History event.
This year’s Trade Fair represented a milestone. It was the 40th Annual New Ulm Trade Fair. The first New Ulm trade fair was held in 1980. This was also the second New Ulm trade fair held with COVID-19 casting a shadow over events. ....

Duluth Elks Lodge #133 delivered dictionaries to all third graders at the
Hermantown Elementary School, and to
Stella Maris Academy. This has been an annual event for the Duluth Elks Lodge for several years. The dictionaries belong to the students for their own personal use. Also, the Elks in December were awarded a combined Beacon/Spotlight Grant from the Elks Community Investments Program. They received $5,500 and distributed the money to 5 local area elementary schools. $1,100 was awarded to each of the following schools: ....
