4 Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD Artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML) is a next-generation computer capability that holds the potential for changing everything from how people live and work to how wars are fought and won. The Combat Capabilities Development Command Chemical Biological Center (DEVCOM CBC) is keeping pace with this computing revolution through its Grand Challenge Program, beginning with three pilot projects and a workshop to recruit more. “We are starting with the three pilot projects to demonstrate the value of AI/ML across the Center,” said Patrick Riley, a Center research chemist who is heading up the effort. “Our goal is to start up lots of small projects on the ‘fail fast’ principle so we can see what the best uses of AI/ML are here at the Center.” ....
