PETERSBURG - Last year, hundreds attended the first Old Towne Christmas festival which included a traditional parade. Other than scarves to stay warm, the only face coverings worn were by the Grinch, Santa, and some crazy Minions. I also remember mingling with Darth Vader and some stormtroopers in attendance. Since we re in the middle of a pandemic, a covid-conscious drive-thru style Christmas parade will take place this year on Saturday, Dec. 19 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in Downtown Petersburg. “This year has looked very different for everyone, but the Holiday season is always worth celebrating even if it’s in an altered format,” said Petersburg Mayor, Sam Parham. “We’re excited to have this unique celebration in our community, and I hope everyone enjoys it this weekend!” ....
