New Study: Drinking Any Amount Of Alcohol Is Harmful To The Brain I believe it was Frank Sinatra, Ol Blue Eyes himself, who uttered the famous quote, Alcohol may be man s worst enemy, but the bible says love your enemy. Well, as it turns out, alcohol may be even worse of an enemy to mankind than previously thought, according to a new study. A recent observational study, conducted by the University of Oxford, shows there is no such thing as a safe level of drinking with even “moderate” drinking adversely affecting nearly every part of the brain. The study, which is still to be peer-reviewed, suggests that the more alcohol consumed, the lower the brain volume. In effect, the more you drink, the worse off your brain. ....
Maharashtra CM, Gujarat CM discuss about Cyclone Tauktae ANI 19 May 2021, 07:27 GMT+10 Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], May 19 (ANI): Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Tuesday held a conversation with his Gujarat counterpart Vijay Rupani to discuss the impact of Cyclone Tauktae as the cyclonic storm made landfall in the neighbouring state late in the night a day earlier. In a tweet by the Maharashtra CMO in the evening, it read, This morning CM Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray spoke to Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani ji. They discussed the impact of Cyclone Tauktae on Maharashtra and Gujarat. On May 17, Thackeray was closely monitoring the movement and the impact of the cyclone. Vehicular movement is being restored after removing trees and electric poles that have fallen due to gusty winds. The CM also took stock of the damage to fishing boats. He also took stock of the interrupted Air and Rail services from the relevant departments , informed Thackeray s CMO. ....
Dear Amy: I am a new mom with two 1-year-old babies. My wife and I love being moms, but I am pretty heartsick that due to the pandemic, none of my family members have met our fast-growing babies in person. For the first year, I took this in stride and assumed that visits would be possible in 2021 â after vaccinations. We are an eight-hour flight away from our family, and driving is not possible. An oil spill that struck the beaches of the city of Marbah, located 15 kilometres north of Fujairah city on Sunday, has been successfully contained. The Fujairah Environment Authority (FEA) worked in tandem with the Fujairah City Municipality for the operation that was launched to protect water resources, infrastructure, and livelihood of local fisherfolk in the area. ALSO READ: Assila Abdullah Al Mualla, Director of FEA, said that the green body in coordination with the civic and port authorities and coupled with companies and institutions in the private sector were engaged in the operation to contain the impact of the oil spill that had struck the beaches at Marbah. ....
