SRINAGAR: As Covid-19 cases continue to surge in J&K, the administration in view of the emerging COVID-19 situation, today deployed 45 Junior Scale Probationers Officers for assisting in Corona virus mitigation efforts at the various places.
The further reads that, “In view of the emerging situation due to outbreak of Corona Virus (COVID-19), the following Junior Scale Probationers are hereby deployed for assisting in Corona virus mitigation efforts at the places indicated against each, till further orders, with immediate effect:-

Mysore/Mysuru: Cyclothon, Flash Mob, awareness rallies and special lectures by various Hospitals and organisations marked ‘
World Cancer Day’ in city this morning.
ClearMedi Radiant Hospital had organised a Cyclothon to create awareness on cancer, its causes, preventive measures and treatment options, which was flagged off by Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar. Speaking on the occasion, he said cancer, once termed as a dreaded disease, has now become a curable disease due to availability of new medicine in market.
The Cyclothon started from Kote Anjaneyaswamy Temple and passed through main roads of city.
Sandesh Kumar, ACP (Traffic), Dr. D.G. Nagaraj, Mysuru City Corporation Health Officer, Dr. Suresh, NSS Coordinator, University of Mysore and A.R. The stepping up of roadside checking for traffic offences has become a cause for concern in some quarters, but the police claim it is necessary to not only check the flagrant flouting of traffic rules, but also recover long-pending traffic penalty dues.
Former corporator K.V. Mallesh, who is also president of Anikethana Seva Trust K.V., recently wrote to the Mysuru city police against the practice of the traffic police flagging down motorists on the road. Instead, adopt technology to book traffic violations, he suggested. ....

Four-hour parking rule to be a reality on Devaraja Urs Road

Mysuru: The vexed and long-drawn vehicle parking issue on D. Devaraja Urs Road in Central Business District of the city has finally seen a logical end with a resolution that no vehicle including that of the shop owners can be parked on this road beyond four hours. Violating vehicles would be wheel-locked and action would be taken against the owners under the provisions of Motor Vehicles Act.
The four-hour parking decision was taken at a meeting of traders, locals, customers, senior citizens and the members of Traffic Advisory Committee yesterday. The meeting was held in the premises of Devaraja Traffic Police Station under the leadership of Traffic ACP S.N. Sandesh Kumar. ....
