Anyone who has visited will know that it is home to some stunning collections and artefacts, such as a collection of Vincennes, Sevres and Meissen porcelain and examples of George III furniture.
The National Trust property is loaded with history and was once home to a range of notable characters such as the 6th Earl of Coventry, Maria Gunning and Barbara St John.
However, not every aspect of the property’s history is positive and the property is just one of many National Trust sites with links to colonialism and racism. ....

Chennai, May 13 : The exit of top leaders of actor Kamal Haasan s Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) has begun and expected to continue, say party insiders.
On Thursday, MNM General Secretary and retired IAS officer Santhosh Babu announced his resignation from his post and the party s primary membership.

Coronavirus UK: Pubs, restaurants, theatres, cinemas and museums prepare to reopen

Pubs, restaurants, theatres, cinemas and museums across England are preparing to welcome back customers after Boris Johnson confirmed the return of indoor hospitality and attractions next Monday.
Social distancing markers, hand sanitising stations, mandatory pre-booking and the wearing of face masks are among the measures which will be in place when people return to venues which have been shut for months. 
Cinemas, museums, theatres and concert halls will reopen although there will be capacity limits on large events, while pubs and restaurants will be able to serve customers indoors but it will be table service only. 
Among the policies being introduced are a virtual queuing system via a QR code at Nandos restaurants, Hollywood Bowl allowing visitors to wear their own shoes, and better air circulation at Vue cinemas. ....

In the run-up to the 2016 Assembly polls although Karunanidhi had ruled out the possibility of Stalin becoming the CM if DMK was voted back to power -he had said that it may materialise if nature did something to him- Stalin worked as before for the party s success.

Stalin is the future of the party, said late DMK patriarch M Karunanidhi about six years ago at a party meet when his son was party treasurer. It has come true on Friday with M K Stalin being sworn in as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. Though the DMK could not capture power in 2016 despite a no holds barred contest, Stalin continued to relentlessly take the fight against the AIADMK ahead both in the State Assembly and outside of it, which helped him realise the dream of storming back to the seat of power, Fort St George after a decade. ....
