Despite setbacks, Cyprus maritime authorities are determined to revive a passenger ferry link to Greece after a tender failed to attract any interest from shipping companies earlier this year. The Deputy Ministry of shipping is engaging in a battle to revive interest in the ferry link through improving the tender documentation previously approved by Brussels. On a cloudy spring day, hundreds lined up in their cars on the Canadian side of the border crossing that separates Alberta and Montana. They had driven for hours and camped out in their vehicles in hopes of receiving the season s hottest commodity a Covid-19 vaccine from a Native American tribe that was giving out its excess doses.
The Blackfeet tribe in northern Montana provided about 1000 surplus vaccines last month to its First Nations relatives and others from across the border, in an illustration of the disparity in speed at which the United States and Canada are distributing doses. While more than 30 per cent of adults in the US are fully vaccinated, in Canada that figure is about 3 per cent. ....

September will bring thousands of young athletes from around the country to the Bay of Plenty, giving it a much-needed boost as the annual Anchor AIMS Games returns.
This time last year, the heartbreaking decision
was made to cancel the intermediate-aged sports tournament, held in Tauranga, due to Covid-19 and the need to make national safety a priority.
Registrations for 2021 were looking really good , tournament director Vicki Semple said, and were on par with the 2019 games which hosted more than 11,000 athletes 2.3 per cent more athletes than were in the Rio Olympic Games. ....
