Miles Winship, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully in his home on March 24, 2021. Miles Lyman Winship was born on April 6, 1930, in Butte, Montana, to Lawton “Glenn” Winship and Elsie (Loeppky) Winship. After his mother, Elsie, passed he was raised by Glenn and his stepmother, Tekla (Kraftenberg) Winship. Miles lived and worked on his family farm in the Bitterroot Valley throughout his childhood. He attended High School in Victor, Montana, and graduated Teacher’s College in Dillon, Montana. During the summers he worked for the Forest Service watching for forest fires. Miles taught in a country schoolhouse in Montana and later worked in a hospital in Missoula before moving to Billings where he worked for Gamble’s. ....

For example, the supermarket and pharmacy chain Kroger reports that more than 368,000 individuals protected health information was affected by the Accellion hacking incident, according to the Department of Health and Human Services HIPAA Breach Reporting Tool website, which lists health data breaches affecting 500 or more individuals. In a recent statement, Kroger says Accellion notified the company that an unauthorized person gained access to certain Kroger files by exploiting a vulnerability in Accellion’s file transfer service. ....
Get Permission The Department of Veterans Affairs watchdog agency alleges that two VA employees “concealed” and “mispresented” the cybersecurity and privacy risks of an ambitious big data project that would have analyzed 22 million veterans’ health records dating back two decades. The VA ended up pulling the plug on the contract with technology vendor Flow Health Inc. before the project launched after news media coverage brought VA leadership’s attention to the initiative’s issues. The case not only spotlights the risks involved in big data initiatives, but also the threats posed by insiders.
