The DOH made the clarification a day after it announced that vaccination sites will no longer announce what brands are available on a specific date. Pag sinabi naman na hindi natin ia-announce yung brand (When we say we won’t announce the brand), we are not going to announce the brand as of [that] day, Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire told Unang Hirit.

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, May 20) The Health Department vowed to pay for indigent patients medical costs in eight private hospitals in Metro Manila.
This, as government hospitals struggle to accommodate mostly poor patients amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Patients who live below the poverty line usually rely on state services as they don t have the means to pay for private medication.
DOH Metro Manila Dir. Dr. Gloria Balboa said they can apply under the Medical Assistance to Indigent Patients (MAIP) program.
The agency currently has a Memorandum of Agreement with the following private hospitals in five cities in the National Capital Region:
