April 28, 2021MOULTONBOROUGH The Newfound track team made the trip to Moultonborough for a meet on Tuesday, April 20.
The Bear boys and girls came through with the wins, with Berlin finishing in second place and the host Panthers finishing in third place.
Isabelle LaPlume picked up the win in the discus with a toss of 86 feet, two inches, with Bailey Fairbank in third at 68 feet, one inch and Paulina Huckins in fourth at 66 feet, nine inches.
Huckins won the shot put with a toss of 34 feet, eight inches, with MollyLu McKellar in second place with a toss of 28 feet, two inches. ....

AUTHORITIES are now negotiating with the man who climbed the first Mactan bridge on the morning of Tuesday, April 20, 2021, with an attempt to jump off.
According to Nagiel Bañacia, officer-in-charge of the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (DRRMO) in Lapu-Lapu City, the man’s name is Richard, 28.
Richard is married, speaks Tagalog, and about 5 feet 4 inches in height. ....

COVID-19: Big jump for fourth successive day

Mysuru has reported a big jump in COVID-19 cases for the fourth continuous day, swelling the active case tally.
On Tuesday, 699 new infections were detected, taking the number of active cases to 4,147. Four people succumbed to the contagion on Tuesday. The pandemic has claimed 1,126 lives so far, including 56 in the last 12 days.
Like Monday, the highest number of cases – 527 - was reported from Mysuru city. The daily count in taluks is like this – 9 in H.D. Kote; 38 in Hunsur; 23 in K.R. Nagar; 52 in Mysuru taluk; 21 in Nanjangud; 14 in Periyapatna; and 15 in T. Narsipur.
Out of 699 cases, 545 are the contacts, 147 ILI and 7 SARI. ....

The first Australian travellers to set foot in Queenstown in more than a year were greeted with live music, entertainment and the offer of a free bungy jump.
Qantas QF121 was scheduled to land at Queenstown Airport at 2.30pm today, 387 days since the last commercial passenger flight landed in the resort.
Queenstown Airport chief executive Colin Keel said they are very excited to be welcoming Australian travellers back to the city. ....
