Enough with changing the clocks. Let's make daylight saving time permanent. Or standard time permanent. And then stick with it. [editorial]

THE ISSUE
Daylight saving time began over the weekend. Most of the United States, including Pennsylvania, lost an hour of sleep by “springing forward” at 2 a.m. Sunday. With the change, winter’s lesser amount of daylight lasts longer into the evening, but the sun takes an hour longer to emerge in the morning. Standard time returns Nov. 7.
Republican state Sen. Scott Martin, of Martic Township, wants to make daylight saving time permanent. Enough with the twice-a-year clock-changing, he believes.
If you’re feeling a bit groggy and cheated of a precious hour of weekend sleep, you probably agree. We certainly do. ....

Daylight Saving Time begins on Sunday, March 14.
Clocks are turned forward an hour at 2 a.m. to 3 a.m., meaning we lose an hour of sleep if we wake up to an alarm set for Sunday morning.
The benefit? Sunrise will be an hour later, just before 7 a.m. in Massachusetts, instead of around 6 a.m. As the days continue, the evenings will continue to be brighter. ....

Josh Hawley files countercomplaint against Senate Democrats for "canceling" him

Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) says Senate Democrats are engaging in “cancel culture” for filing a request with the Ethics Committee to investigate his role in the January 6 Capitol insurrection. His response was to file his own complaint.
“Your baseless allegations are in that sense unfortunately typical of today’s leftwing cancel culture, a culture that tramples on the democratic traditions that left and right once defended together,” Hawley wrote to senators in filing his complaint.
