Man from Harrow jailed for terrorism material | This Is Local London

A man from Harrow is among three men who were found with Islamic terrorism-related material.
Mohamed Ismail, a 24-year-old Dutch national from Harrow, has been sentenced to four years’ imprisonment after an investigation found him involved in a terrorism-related online chat.
Between August and December 2019, Ismail and two other men spoke to each other on internet chat groups and sent messages which showed their Islamic extremist mindsets.
The messages included the men expressing their support of the aims of Daesh, and of violent jihads against “non-believers”.
They posted extremist material - Daesh propaganda material, including execution videos and publications showing different ways to commit terror attacks. ....

Firearms were seized and two men arrested following dawn raids in Leighton Buzzard this morning (Wednesday) as part of an investigation into the supply of firearms.

Officers from the Eastern Region Special Operations Unit (ERSOU) seized an automatic firearm and a handgun, following warrants at residential addresses in Lake Street.
Two men, one in their 20s and one in their 30s, were arrested on suspicion of possession of firearms and taken into custody for further questioning.
ERSOU’s teams were supported by resources from Bedfordshire Police, the Metropolitan Police, and Essex Police. ....

A group of experts at major contractors is drawing up guidance for the industry to use to head off cyber-attacks while working in joint ventures.
Royal Bam group director of cyber-security, Ian Hill, told
Construction News that a group called the Chief Information Security Officer Forum is meeting regularly to work out how to contain the increasing threat to the industry. The forum is working on other cyber-security issues and serves as a “fast-track communication mechanism” so that the companies involved, including Balfour Beatty, Kier and Morgan Sindall, can alert each other if a major cyber-incident takes place that could affect other companies. ....
