Courtesy of CPD COLUMBUS, Ind. – Columbus police officers arrested a local man Thursday evening on multiple charges after he reportedly fled on foot from law enforcement in an attempt to evade arrest. Around 7:15 p.m., CPD officers observed a man attempting to hide behind a trash can in the 1200 block of 8th Street. When the officer exited his patrol car, the man, who was later identified as Craig Pike, 51, of Columbus, began fleeing on foot. The officer relocated the man near 8th and Reed Streets where he confirmed a warrant for Pike’s arrest. Officers searched Pike’s backpack and reportedly found drugs and drug paraphernalia inside. Pike was then transported to the Bartholomew County Jail and is facing preliminary charges of resisting law enforcement, possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and a Bartholomew County warrant. ....
