The Stark County Health Department will begin vaccinating the new age group as soon as the Ohio Department of Health gives the go-ahead. The Independent As Stark County school districts prepare to get the second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, many districts have announced plans to cancel classes or temporarily move to online learning. Officials fear staff members could experience side effects, prompting them to call off and leave schools without the necessary staff to conduct a school day. Massillon City Schools released its plan last week. Staff at Washington High School, the administrative office including preschool staff and transportation employees, are set to get their second dose on March 1 from the Massillon City Health Department. Massillon students will have classes March 1 but all students will move to remote learning the rest of the week.
