VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Several staff members who work in the City County Health District office in Valley City participated in the Walk at Work Day held for Barnes County employees on Tuesday, May 18th. On the Move spokeswoman Andrea Winter said the staff at City County Health District took a break from giving the COVID-19 vaccine to community members with a 10-minute walk to give them energy for the rest of the day. BARNES COUNTY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A risk assessment workshop for incorporated cities to continue the update of the Barnes County Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. CST, Thursday, May 20, 2021, in Room 102 at the Rhoades Science Center at Valley City State University in Valley City, North Dakota. The meeting is being held in conjunction with the regularly scheduled steering committee meeting. The agenda for the workshop includes an overview of each city’s profile and inventory, an overview of the risk assessment workshop analyzing the impact, frequency, likelihood, and vulnerability of natural hazards and man-made threats, and formulating mitigation projects. The agenda for the steering committee includes an update on the survey and planning process participation and updating of the mitigation strategy for Barnes County. The meeting is open to the public. VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Authorities responded to a two vehicle crash in Barnes County north of Urbana, North Dakota on Friday, May 14th about 8 o’clock in the morning. Members from the Valley City Rural Fire District and Sanborn Fire Department responded to the crash. No life threatening injuries were reported. The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Firefighters also responded to a grass fire northwest of Valley City near Barnes County 19 known as the River Road on Friday, May 14th about 12:40pm. VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The CDC has changed guidance for fully vaccinated individuals (2 weeks after the final dose of vaccine). CDC now says that individuals who are fully vaccinated, no longer have to mask in public, unless required by a specific businesses or transportation companies. City County Health District Administrator Theresa Will said if you are fully vaccinated, you can resume activities that you did prior to the pandemic. She said the CDC said, fully vaccinated people can resume activities without wearing a mask or physically distancing, except where required by federal, state, local, tribal, or territorial laws, rules, and regulations, including local business and workplace guidance. ....
