This annual award is presented to a member of the Canadian lacrosse community in recognition ofoutstanding contributions of sportsmanship and leadership in the game of lacrosse and to the physical and mental development of young Canadians through unselfish dedication as a volunteer. Dean McLeod’s devotion, work ethic, focus and commitment to Ontario Junior “A” lacrosse and to lacrosse in his home town of Brampton have been exemplary. It should be no surprise he has been awarded the Lester Pearson Award. If anything, it could be viewed as somewhat puzzling it took so long for him to be given this recognition. ....
Monday April 12th, 2021 1:13pm The Panther City Lacrosse Club has named Steve Toll Defensive Coach, the team announced today. “We are very excited to complete our bench staff today with the addition of defensive coach Steve Toll,” said General Manager Bob Hamley. “Steve’s passion and enthusiasm for our game is unmatched. A winner at every level as a player and as a coach, we look forward to Steve bringing his passion and experience to Panther City. Welcome to Panther City Steve!” Named the first ever National Lacrosse League Transition Player of the Year in 2007, Toll won the NLL championship five times during his illustrious 14 year playing career, four times with the Toronto Rock and once with the Rochester Knighthawks. In addition to his time in Toronto and Rochester, Toll played for Edmonton, Colorado, San Jose, and Ontario. ....

They announced the change at the end of March with a completely new look that not only gives the National Team a fresh look, but also honours the roots and traditions of lacrosse. Jane Clapham is the Executive Director of Lacrosse Canada and spoke on the exciting rebrand. “Lacrosse Canada recognized the need for an organization rebrand to better reflect the values and identity of the Canadian lacrosse community,” she said. According to Lacrosse Canada, the opportunity arose with play being suspended for a year. “With the pandemic putting many sports across the country on hold for the past year, it provided a valuable opportunity to move ahead with the rebrand,” she said…. ....
Monday March 8th, 2021 8:08am The Canadian Lacrosse League (CLL) and Professional Lacrosse Players Association (PLPA) have established a relationship to develop education and career development resources for CLL players. In preparation for the launch of the first major junior lacrosse league in history the CLL will work with the PLPA to develop exclusive education and career development resources for CLL players to help them navigate the transition from life as student-athletes to life as professional-athletes and young professionals. While the programs we develop with the PLPA will focus on providing players with resources to pursue playing in the National Lacrosse League, all players will benefit from the relationship and the underlying education components centred around career advancement, said Chris Fox, Founder and President of the Canadian Lacrosse League. ....
