City/Port Master Plan Focus Of Joint Meeting Details Published: 03 March 2021 Astoria City Manager Brett Estes and Community Development Director Meg Leatherman have been in discussions over the past year with Port of Astoria staff working toward a possible partnership to develop and implement a master planning document covering the properties from the Bornstein Seafood plant to the Maritime Memorial. Those talks have now reached a point where on Thursday a joint meeting between the Astoria Development Commission (ADC) and the Port Commission is planned to discuss a number of matters that should lead to an agreement to begin the planning process. ....
Short Vaccine Supply Challenging Published: 03 March 2021 While more people are eligible to get one of the COVID 19 vaccines in Clatsop County with the addition of those 65 years and older on March 1st, there isn t enough vaccine to serve everyone. In a news release, the county states that there are still those in the first groups to qualify that haven t had a first shot much less a second dose. Individuals age 80 and over were declared eligible for vaccination by the state on Feb. 8. Eligibility was extended to those 75 and older on Feb. 15, to those 70 and older on Feb. 22, and, on Monday, March 1, to individuals 65 and older. ....

The couple transformed the intimate space, which went from a filling station to the original Friendly Spot to storage for Madhatters, into a restaurant that s as delicate and sophisticated as the oysters on the menu. The posh pop of pastel in the trendy district quickly caught eyes and Instagram lenses making Little Em s a speedy Southtown success. Emily Carpenter told MySA in January that her restaurant had been blessed with full reservation books.
