Attack the Block is in the works, with Cornish and star John Boyega reunitng for the film. Deadline reports that the star and writer/director are returning for the sequel to the 2011 film, which saw a teenage street gang in south London fight off an alien invasion on Guy Fawkes Night.

Monster Anatomy: HIS HOUSE Summons A Night Witch

Remi Weekes feature debut, a horror movie, holds the rare distinction of earning universal praise from critics as well as a BAFTA award win for Outstanding Debut by a British Writer, Director or Producer.
His House tells a heart-wrenching story of a refugee couple attempting to adjust to their new life in an English suburb after making a perilous escape from war-torn South Sudan. That in itself makes for a gripping horror tale, but Weekes balances grim realism with folklore and gives a twist to the haunted house format. Bad memories and trauma followed Bol (Sope Dirisu) and Rial Majur (Wunmi Mosaku) across the sea, creating the perfect weapon for the entity lurking within the decrepit walls to use against the couple. Instead of ghosts, it s the past and an unnerving night witch that haunts this couple. ....

Big Wins for Diversity, 'Nomadland' at BAFTAs | Arts

Chloé Zhao’s “Nomadland” was not the only big winner of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts Awards, held on the weekend of April 10. Unlike in previous years, this ceremony marked one of the first times there weren’t widespread — and rightful — accusations of a lack of diversity among the ceremony s winners.
Winning four awards including Best Film, “Nomadland” emerged as the clear victor of the night. A drama based on a non-fiction book of the same name, the film tells the story of contemporary nomads traversing America in RVs in the wake of the 2008 recession. Its victory over two British productions was a testament to the film’s strength, as it prevailed in spite of BAFTA’s habit of favoring UK pictures — which would ultimately be borne out by its Oscar win. ....
