Southwell Town Council’s planning committee raise objections to proposals for solar farms at Halloughton and Winkburn

Members of a town council have voted against the construction of a solar farm for a second time.
Members of Southwell Town Council’s planning committee said they were shocked to see little had changed, having already objected to similar plans in August.
The application, by JBM Solar Projects 6 Ltd, seeks to build a solar farm and battery stations, together with all associated works, equipment and necessary infrastructure, on land north of Halloughton.

Committee member Mr David Martin said: “As far as I am concerned there is nothing in there that makes any substantial differences, so our comments are identical to the ones of before and, having read a bit more about it, I also object to agricultural land being used. ....
