Chiltern Railways has updated its timetable Chiltern Railways is introducing a new timetable from Sunday in response to the next phase of the Government’s roadmap for the easing of lockdown in England. The train operator has been running a reduced timetable since last March while providing train services for key workers. The new timetable will increase capacity and improve connectivity on weekend trains between London Marylebone and Oxford. On Saturdays capacity will increase by 11 per cent between Marylebone and Oxford and by 13 per cent on Sundays. All of the Oxford services will be calling at Oxford Parkway, Bicester Village, Haddenham and Thame Parkway, Princes Risborough, High Wycombe and Gerrards Cross. ....
LONDON, ONT. Neighbours surrounding an overcrowded school in the Thames Valley District School Board (TVDSB) are upset with a plan to create a school bus access road next to their backyards. The Oxford Park Community Association (OPCA) says the plan threatens neighbours, traffic and even what could be one of the tallest vintage trees of its type in Ontario. OPCA members say they were not consulted about the road plan in advance. It would run from Eagle Heights Public School on Oxford Street through the schoolyard to Upper Avenue. Member Sandra Miller says her group only discovered details when they noted someone measuring the site. ....
Picture Project Endeavour/PA Self-driving cars enabling motorists to take their eyes off the road and their hands off the wheel could be permitted on UK motorways later this year, the Department for Transport has announced. It will allow hands-free driving in vehicles that have technology enabling them to stay in their lane automatically on motorways with slow traffic, at speeds of up to 37mph. These cars will automatically monitor the speed of other traffic and keep a safe distance but the driver will be able to take control in an emergency. Testing of driverless cars has been going on in Oxfordshire since 2017. ....

The car park capacity has also been increased by 595 spaces taking the number of spaces for vehicles to more than 1,300. The improvements were made possible thanks to a multi-million pound investment by Oxford City Council. Seacourt Park & Ride off Botley Road is one of five car parks located on Oxford’s ring road which provide parking and bus journeys into the city centre. The 400 service operates between Seacourt, Oxford and Thornhill daily. Oxford Bus Company operates all Park & Ride bus services to the City Centre, which are designed to help reduce city centre emissions and congestion. ....
