MSU president "knew nothing" about staffer named in EMU rape lawsuit


Those assaults have led to four arrests. In September 2020, EMU announced publicly that it had hired an outside firm to conduct an audit of the Title IX office Werner led there.
By then, Werner had been at MSU about 10 months. The same week as EMU s announcement, she resigned in a confidential agreement  obtained in a Freedom of Information Act request that will keep her on the payroll through June 2021. 
Werner and MSU officials have said the resignation had nothing to do with Werner’s time at EMU.
On Friday, Stanley said he had no knowledge of the allegations against Werner, nor the EMU Title IX office audit until last month. ....

Johns Hopkins University envisions campus operations being substantially back to normal this fall and plans to welcome students, faculty, and staff back for a broad resumption of in-person classes and activities, with necessary public health safeguards in place, university leaders said today.
Given recent increases in COVID-19 vaccine availability and distribution, the university intends for vaccination to be a critical component to its campus safety plan all students who plan to be on campus in the fall will be required to be vaccinated or have a religious or health exemption; f ....

Stanford taps athletics official, civil rights attorney for key equity and sexual violence response posts

Stanford announced on Wednesday that it is appointing two men to key roles overseeing the response to sexual harassment and violence a decision that drew mixed responses from survivor advocates.
Deputy Athletics Director Patrick Dunkley will serve as vice provost for institutional equity, access and community, and civil rights attorney Stephen Chen will serve as Title IX coordinator and director of the Sexual Harassment/Assault Response and Education (SHARE) Office.
Dunkley, who is currently a deputy athletics director and a senior university counsel, will oversee the University’s racial justice initiatives and the Office of Institutional Equity and Access, which houses the SHARE Office. Dunkley will replace Lauren Schoenthaler, who served in the role for the past five years.  ....
