Punjab to Hire 12 Principals For Govt Colleges
The Higher Education Department (HED), Punjab is recruiting Principals for 12 posts in public sector colleges.
Six of these colleges, three for males and three for female are located in Lahore. These include Government Fatima Jinnah College for Women, Chuna Mandi, Government Degree College for Women, Manga Mandi, Government Degree College for Women, Mustafa Abad, Government College of Commerce, Allama Iqbal Town, Government College of Commerce, Kot Lakhpat, and Government College of Commerce, Baghbanpura.

The police on Monday said that clashes erupted between security forces and school students after they took out a protest march in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district against the alleged highhandedness of security personnel.
The march, which was taken out in Tral area, 35 kms from here, was stopped by the security forces. Enraged over it, the students threw stones at security personnel, who in retaliation baton charged them.

Deputy Commissioner R. Ragapriya has said that all preparations to conduct a fair and proper polling in the first phase of gram panchayat elections have been completed.
BARAMULLA: Commissioner Secretary, Talat Parvez Rohella, accompanied by District Development Commissioner Baramulla, Dr G N Itoo and other concerned officers today paid visit to Government Degree College for Women Baramulla to review its functioning besides assessing the status of development projects undertaken in the college.
Commissioner Secretary inspected the construction work on science block and other development works being executed in the college. He asked the concerned agencies to ramp up the pace of works so that the project is completed within the stipulated time frame.
Principal of the College, Dr Fahmeeda, briefed the Secretary about the courses offered in the college adding that apart from academic education several skill development and vocational courses like carpet design technology, boutique learning etc are also being offered to the students.
Srinagar: As a part of anti drug drive week, Police organised a drug de-addiction rally in Handwara while a seminar on drug abuse in Awantipora.
Police in Handwara under the supervision of SSP Handwara Dr G.V. Sundeep Chakravarthy-IPS organized a drug de-addiction rally in collaboration with several Schools of Handwara area. The rally was started from Degree College Handwara to New Bus Stand passing through town Handwara. During the rally, Students and police officials were carrying placards, banners having varied information about the causes and consequences of illegal use of drugs.
The rally was led by ASP Handwara Shri Mashkoor Ahmad-JKPS besides DySP DAR Handwara and SHO PS Handwara participated in the rally. Among others, members from the Municipal committee Handwara and respectable of Handwara town and its adjacent villages participated in the rally.
