Hassaan Niazi’s licence restored July 19, 2021 LAHORE: The Punjab Bar Council (PbBC) Saturday restored the legal practicing licence of advocate Hassaan Khan Niazi, nephew of Prime Minister Imran Khan, earlier suspended on a complaint of the counsel of a widow of former governor of Balochistan Nawab Akbar Bugti, who also got a FIR registered against him. Niazi appeared before the executive committee of the PbBC. The committee restored his licence as advocate Ayaz Butt, the counsel of Ms Shahzadi Nargis, the widow of Bugti, withdrew his complaint. PbBC secretary also issued a notification in this connection and sent the same to the district & sessions judge of Lahore, senior civil judge and the Lahore Bar Association’s president. ....

Islampura police book five lawyers including Advocate Hassan Niazi July 10, 2021 LAHORE: Islampura police have registered a case against five lawyers including Advocate Hassan Niazi on various criminal charges for attempted murder. The case (No. 1415/21) was registered under Sections 324, 354, 148,149, 506/B and 342 PPC on the complaint of Shahzadi Nargis, widow of former Balochistan Governor Nawab Akbar Bugti. As per FIR, she had approached the Sessions Court seeking interim bail in case No. 104/21 registered against her in the FIA. Her lawyer Ayaz Butt was also present there. Hassan Niazi used foul language against her and her ex-husband and subjected her companion Sana Manzoor and lawyer Ayaz Butt to torture in the court premises. ....
