10 million jobs promise but not a single post on job portal

Lahore: The Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf’s (PTI’s) popular electoral slogan of 10 million jobs is being taken care of by the Punjab Labour Department. Making job hunt easier for the job hunters, the department has, for the first time in history, launched its online job portal.
Provincial Minister for Labour Ansar Majeed Khan inaugurated the job portal at the DG Labour Office on Saturday. Amazingly, the website did not have even a single job when this scribe visited it on Saturday at 12pm.
The department may be able to post jobs on the website – https://labour.punjab.gov.pk/jobs – in the coming days. ....

The stone crushing industry on Saturday called off its strike after successful negotiations with Federal Minister for Finance Hammad Azhar.
A delegation of association led by Provincial Minister for Labour Punjab Ansar Majeed Khan met with the Federal Minister for Finance and apprised him about the concerns of industry after new sales tax regime and its impact on overall development of the sector. The delegation urged the minister for ensuring sales tax of stone crushing industry of Sargodha at par with other districts. ....

Federal Minister for Finance, Revenue, Industries and Production Muhammad Hammad Azhar Friday reiterated the government’s firm commitment to further promoting the construction industry as it had triggered an impressive growth underpinning V-shape recovery amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
The minister was talking to a delegation of Stone Crushing Associations that called on him here, a Finance Ministry news release said.
The delegation was led by Minister for Labour and Human Resource, Punjab Ansar Majeed Khan while Additional Secretary Industries and Production, Member (Operations) Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and other senior officers also participated in the meeting. ....
