Jeff Teper, corporate vice president of Microsoft 365 collaboration, doesn’t believe there’s a product in tech that offers as many partner opportunities as Microsoft will create with its Teams collaboration app in the next five years. Teams, which launched in 2017, is growing faster than just about any other product that Microsoft has created, and the company continues to innovate very quickly for both end users and developers, according to Teper. That equates to a lot more opportunities for partners, he said. “There’s no better way for partners to make money right now than to help organizations retool their real estate, their employees and their applications for the hybrid workplace,” Teper told CRN. “If I was talking to the CEO of any one of our partners, I would say, ‘Ride the wave and respond to the need of the hybrid workplace.’ And it’s going to touch facilities, apps and employees.” ....
Barhead is supplying its Power Platform-based solution Clearspace to NRMA Insurance to provide tools enabling a safe return to work and improved flexibility for its employees across NSW. The conversations about the customer’s needs began in June 2020 and the solution was live by October the same year. The solution provides a simple booking system that integrates with Microsoft 365, which was already NRMA s core productivity solution, allowing people to use Teams to book a desk or meeting room ahead of their planned return to the office. The company wanted a compatible solution that could provide transparency regarding the location of employees to ensure desk cleaning could be scheduled and contact tracing undertaken when needed. ....

In recent weeks, the first local health professionals have been given their Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine jabs. Among the first was the Silverdale Medical team. Dr Isabelle Duck says she got her jab on March 13 in the city. “The process was well organised and quick,” she says. “There was a temperature check and a consent form to sign. Afterwards we were monitored for 30 minutes. I have had no side effects and was able to continue my weekend as normal.” ....
