The first one is here in the 200 block of randolph road. You can see where the vehicle is flipped over. Where one person has died. This is still very early in the investigation. But this is what we know so far. At about 6 56 this morning. Police say this car went off the road. Flipped. And landed here in someones front yard. That person was killed. One minute later, police say there was another crash. An suv, and hit a you utility pole at randolph and new hampshire. And witnesses to that crash say there were four people in the suv. The driver stayed on the scene and was taken into custody. Possibly three other people ran. Police eventually caught up with one of passengers in a neighborhood nearby. On two farm drive. The passenger and the driver from the suv are in custody. And could face drug charges after police say they found drugs inside the suv. Now, at this hour, police are still canvassing nearby neighborhoods. Asking people if they saw Anyone Running through. Helicopters still swarming the area. Now, it is not clear if the fatal accident and the suv accident are related. But those who li horrific site. Gruesome. And just words cant explain. Words cant explain what that the car is unrecognizable. It looks like it was in a car compacter. Reporter police say it will likely be several more hours before all of this is cleared up and randolph road is back open. Nearby neighborhoods are also very congested. Where the defense has rested in the trial of Baltimore Police officer charged with the murder in the death of freddie gray. Officer caesar goodson, the van driver declined to testify friday in his own defense. The court adjourned for the day and judge Barry Williams has scheduled closing arguments for monday. And the jury could be getting the case any minute now in the trial of briley castillo. Prosecutors he beat and strangled his estranged wife and key spend the rest of his life in prison if convicted. Middleburg, virginia. One of the hardest hit communities in yesterdays red weather alert when the size of hail came down as baseballs on homes an cars. Melissa nord has more on what residents woke up to this morning. In middleburg, residents are making up this morning, remembering, thinking back to the horrors of yesterday evenings storm. When after dinnertime all of a sudden it started hail. Hail the size of golf balls or larger coming crashing down on the houses in the cars and leaving cashes, shattered windshield cracks, and shattered windshields and tree limbs and branches all over the road. George martell and his neighbor remember the hailstorm vividly. The sounds. We could hear the banging. And that was the hail. It actually sounded like thousands of people with hammers. Just hitting the building with hammers. We were covered with lale for a long time. With hail for a long time. The last memory residents have of a storm of golf ball sized hail was 20 years ago. And now that the storms have pass, george and other neighbors, they are beginning the long process of cleaning up and waiting for Insurance Companies to fix their cars and roof. I think they will take care of everything. We have good insurance. We hope. Spending a lot of time with my insurance company. They are going to get tired of hearing from me. A terrifying june evening. But it could have been worse. Im happy that everybody is okay. Thats the most important thing. All of this, we can fix. We cant fix people. When surge two takes effect, there will be no service between Eastern Market or minnesota avenue. Free shuttles will help people get to the same deal for the blue and silver lines which will have no service between Eastern Market and benning road. We spoke to rider at the Cheverly Metro station in prince georges county. I dont have a plan at this moment. But gregory mann, who works in dc and relies on metro to get him there says he will come up with one fast and started brain storming when speaking with us. Telecommute a couple days, i have a flexible liberal workplace. And there was an action plan put out advising metro riders to consider telework or look for car pool or van Pool Services while the track work is under way for 16 days. On the virginia side, the blue line will be shut down between arlings cemetery and Arlington Cemetery and rosslyn. A Memorial Service was held about an hour ago, to remember the victims. The nine parishioners at emanuel ame died when prosecutors say 22yearold dillon recover started shooting during a bible study. Five people inside that church did survive. In the aftermath of the racial attack, lawmakers removed the Confederate Flag from the South Carolina state house. The Obama Administration is being called out for the way it handled the syrian civil war. However the challenge is not coming from political foes. It is coming from within. Reporter there is growing evidence the wife of the orlando shooter may have helped him plan the rampage. Law enforcement confirms that they were texting as they carried out the attack. The terror inside the club was captured on cell phone video. More than a dozen people huddled in a bathroom, for three hours. Not everyone survived. There was a guy that he was choking on his own blood and he wanted water so bad. So we just were trying to comfort him as much as we could. Some people were freed when a s. W. A. T. Team broke through the bathroom wall. When it was over, 49 people were dead. And dozens more wounded. The city of orlando is doing its part to help families of the victims. More than 7 million has already been collected to help with funeral, plane tickets and on that there were families and individuals and victims that were in need, and in need of compensation, in a very quick fashion. 94 families of victims and survivors have contacted orlandos Assistance Center for help. Autopsy reports show that 2 yearold lane graves died from drowning and traumatic injuries. The child was playing in the Shallow Water in front of the grand floridaian resort when an alligator swam off with the child late tuesday. The tragedy reminds Paul Santa Maria that he was nearly killed by an alligator during a vacation at disney 30 years ago. I was feeding some ducks near the waters edge, and there was an alligator submerged under the water where you couldnt see it. And it came up out of the water. And hit me. It just started throwing me around. Trying to pull me into the water. Now, he managed to break free from the alligators jaw but suffered extensive injuries to his leg. Heroism caught on camera. A Good Samaritan is being credited with pulling this man from a burning car, with dozens of bystanders reversing to step in, arm armaturian runs over and drags the driver out of the car moments before First Responders got there. His friend leo shot video of the rescue and put it on youtube. It was pretty surreal once he started approaching the car. We just felt the heat and there was a lot of noise coming out of it. Like hissing. Like it was about to explode or something. The Santa Clara CountySheriffs Office says the driver was suspected of driving under the influence, and he accidentally set his car engine on fire. He was booked on dui and arson zapped a guy with a taser after he broke into a pharmacy at about 4 00 this morning. Investigators say he broke into the shop, and then barricaded himself inside. And police surrounded the building, and then he comes out and charges officers with a metal pole in hand. Thats when one of the officers fired his taser and brought down the suspect. He collapsed on stage during a concert in edmonton last night. And now meatloaf is recovering in the hospital. A spokesman for the 68yearold rocker says quote he was suffering from severe dehydration, his vital signs are now stable and normal and he is responsive and recovering well. Meatloaf was singing i would do anything for love but i wont do that when he collapsed and took a beat for people to realize that it wasnt part of the song. They rushed over to him and got him to the hospital. But it was not part of the song. The cleanup continues this afternoon. From the storms yesterday.
