Reporter after hours of talking in detail about his life and conversations he had over the past few years with the mcdonnells, today Jonnie Williams seemed not to remember what he said five days ago. Court ended about an hour ago. Heres mr. Williams flanked by his attorneys pushing media away leaving the courthouse. He was crossexamined by mrs. Mcdonnells attorneys who wanted to know what he told investigators in several meetings including one last sunday, but williams responded over and over, i cant recall. Mr. Williams said he gave the mcdonnells all those gifts because he wanted the governors help in promoting his product. Mrs. Mcdonnells attorneys say williams used and manipulated her with an inappropriate close relationship. They pointed to 1,200 texts and phone calls between the two. Mr. Williams says about 100 of those discussions were about his business. Bob mcdonnells defense team is trying to show he never knew about the 20,000 shopping spree or even some of the loans and that it wasnt him but his wife doing the asking.
