He was killed by a robot delivered police bomb. Johnson lid the dallas suburb of mesquite. A decorated first class with the Army Reserves that served in afghanistan before killed, johnson told negotiators he acted alone. He was upset about the recent Police Shootings , the suspect said he was upset at white people. The suspect stated he wanted to kill white people, reporter much of the area around the shooting remains blocked off. The citys mayor spoke with president obama who promised federal support if needed. There is no possible justification for these kind of attacks or violence against Law Enforcement. We learned the name of the 5th officer, 48 corporal lauren aarons. Aarons served with the Dallas Police department for 14 years. We will bring you more details of his life as we learn them. We are receiving word about several new ambushes involving other Police Officers today. Authorities say a man called 911 in south georgia, to report a break in. When the officer arrived on the scene, he was shot. Both men were wounded in the gunfight that followed. In missouri a Police Officer was shot in suburban st. Louis during a traffic stop. That officer is in critical but stable condition. In bristol, tennessee, police say a triple shooting happened today, killing one person, wounding three including another officer and it was motivated by the killings of black men in baton rouge and minnesota this week. Protesters out in force today demanding justice following the death of Philandro Castile in outside the governors residence. The officer has been identified, Jeronimo Yanez fired the fatal shots during a routine stop. His girlfriend live streamed the stop. Protesters want him prosecuted. The law in the state of minnesota gives a lot of protections to Police Officers. The Justice Department is closely watching the investigation play out in minnesota. A mass is planned for later tonight. Louisianas governor led a Prayer Service to remember the other black man killed by police this week. 37 year old alton sterling, two miles away, a mural marks the spot in front of the baton rouge Convenient Store where sterling was killed. Protests in the capitol have been peaceful since the shooting. Across our region, Police Departments are doubling up officers to ensure they have a buddy to keep them safe, with half a dozen pr planned in dc over the next week, they are also promising to keep doing their jobs. The chief says her officers are shaken by the murders of their colleagues but will keep doing what they need to do. Same way we always do, we go out there and do our jobs and watch each others back and engage with people in our community. They watch our back for us as well. Dc is far from perfect, but it has avoided some of the turmoil thats shaken big city departments across the country. The chairman of the Police Union Says video like this show why.
