He was flown to the Nebraska Medical Center for treatment and released once he tested negative for the virus. This weekend he went to the hospital in his native massachusetts with a cough and fever. Reporter the cdc is also tracking 50 people in the dallas area who had contact with thomas erik duncan, the only person diagnosed with ebola in the united states. Sunday authorities here found a homeless man believed to have ridden in this same ambulance that transported duncan and at low risk. Duncan fell ill shortly after he arrived from liberia. His condition worsened over the weekend. I would not be surprised if one of the people who came into direct contact with mr. Duncan when he was ill will get ebola. Reporter but one doctor says its unlikely there will be an outbreak in the u. S. So far those who have had contact with duncan have not shown any symptoms. An american diagnosed in liberia last week is on his way back to the states for treatment. The freelance cameraman is headed to the Nebraska Medical Center. Were told the cdc is receiving is up to 100 calls a day with questions about the ebola virus. Duncan is the only confirmed case in this country. Tonight baltimore native Michael Phelps has checked into a rehab facility. The Gold Medalist announced today he needs help following a dui arrest last week. Phelps tweeted this on sunday.
