What a hot mess on i95, we will begin with this one here at 5 02, police are getting ready to open up at least one lane, southbound, between academy and cot hand. Look at everybody jockeying into position. They are taking over the shoulder. They have been stuck for well over two hours. It all happened when a jackknife tractor trailer southbound approaching cottman avenue. There was a tease he will fuel spill, not only do they have to salt the roadway but they had to sand the roadway in order to open it backup. I95 around the same time that accident, happened, coming out of bucks county. If you get ready to leave the house right now i95 is an absolute parking lot from bucks county, exit atwood haven, go over to the boulevard, or, exit at street road, and make a left and then take state road down through the neighborhood and get back on at cottman avenue. Hepp there i, in the next five or ten minutes we will get at least one lane opened on i95, and then that will help ease that grid lock. Fortytwo coming in from new jersey driving along with the wet roads, snow covered road and salt crews this is not a plowing operation. They are just putting down the salt. So hopefully this is a good sign for the rest of the morning and obviously heading out you to want to be careful because this jackknifed tractor trailer that happened a little bit before 2 00 a. M. In the area of cottman avenue, i95 southbound that was just one of several accidents that happened on i95 this morning. Right now, it is not snowing. We did see flurries but roads are definitely slick. The it seems like maybe people were under estimating the condition of the roadway, and so definitely take it easy out there, as youre heading out, this morning, now what took so long to get this accident cleared, as bob kelly mentioned was there was also a fuel spill. Even though that tow truck had been on the scene for over an hour they had to clean up the fuel as well before they could get the cars moving. So this backup, we all are about six and a half miles from where the initial accident happened and the backup stretches far beyond where we are standing. Several miles long but slowly but surely the traffic will be , once again, moving here along i95, karen and thomas. Bob kelly has other cameras up there. He said it was such a raining backup and delay, people fell asleep. So there are people going up saying hey, come on we can move along. Water Department Crews worked all night trying to fix this water main break in northeast philadelphia. This happened yesterday afternoon about 1 30 over on millbrooke road and that mess of water ended up freezing, made for an interesting ice castle but as that water was go nothing to your basement, that was the big problem for you. It was finally brought under control. They stopped the what the are around 6 00 oclock. People living there said look at that metal plate that has been there since last spring. It started out as a sinkhole. Then it went to a massive sinkhole by the time we got it figured out. It took months before the Water Company came out to check it. Were getting snow on top of all of this. They need to hoff fast.
