There was no one to calm them down t everybody was just screaming and crying and pushing. When i got up there it was about 30 people scattered everywhere. Reporter the man chester arena is one of britains main concert and sport venues with more than 20,000 seats. Witnesses say on this night the arena was packed with children and teenagers. Overnight, family and friends with missing loved ones flooded social media with notes and pictures pleading for help. This morning british Prime Minister theresa may is calling this an appalling terrorist attack and police say they believe this was the work of a suicide bomber. We believe the attacker was carrying an improvised explosive device which he detonated causing this atrocity. The mayor of manchester also made a Public Comment calling the attack an evil act. It is unclear if philadelphia will increase security around the city. We do know police in new york city have tightened security at tourist hot spots and other heavily trafficked areas. There have been no specific threats to new york. We noticed some heavy volume on the vine street expressway westbound traffic slowing from the ben franklin parkway to the schuylkill and you can see in this shot that youre traveling in and out of fog in some spots especially to the northwest its pretty dense so be careful as youre traveling. Just a touch of fog here on i95 but just within the past few minutes we noticed a real jam here and this is your southbound traffic headed towards center city jamming from woodhaven to the vine, already a 28 minute jam on i95 southbound as you head towards center city. We have breaking information on the explosion at an Ariana Grande concert. 22 people were killed, dozens more injured and children are among the dead. The packed show in manchester turned into a frantic stampede. The fans scrambling for their lives after that bomb went off. British police are treating this as an act of terror. More than 240 calls came into emergency services. 22 people including children have died, 59 others are injured suffering from lifethreatening injuries, some of them. Police say this is a fast moving investigation and believe the attack was carried out by one suicide bomber who detonated an improvised explosive device but again, they dont know if hes part of a larger network. They do believe he died in the blast. Manchester arena and victoria train station next door are both cordoned off and will be for some time as the search for detailed forensic evidence is under way. Minutes ago british Prime Minister theresa may spoke saying the attacker clearly deliberately chose the time and place to cause the maximum carnage. She said this attack stands out for its sickening cowardice targeting defenseless children. This was among the worst terrorist incidents we have ever experienced in the united kingdom. And although it is not the first time manchester has suffered in this way, it is the worst attack the city has experienced and the worst ever to hit the north of england. Reporter and british officials are investigating reports that the explosive device contained nuts and bolts as shrapnel. Were hearing from some of the people who witnessed the chaos inside the concert when the bomb went off. Ironically it was a massive wild bang and i just looked up to where i heard it coming from and people were screaming everybody was screaming. The singer left the stage and was not harmed when the explosion went off. This is new video of last nights performance before the blast. It is 6 35 now and in other news, police are stepping up patrols and looking to make more arrest in rests in connection with a teen flash mob at a philadelphia septa station that left one Police Officer injured. Three teens have been arrested and that Police Officer that was injured he was taken to the hospital. He was trying to break up this large fight. Take a look at this video that someone captured of the flash mob of students that first gathered near a septa station in the june juniata park section. Dozens of students overwhelmed the officers who initially responded. You can see from the cell phone video and Surveillance Video footage where a Police Officer gets one person on the ground and as two others stop another teen another is knocked to the ground. Another fight where a teen took off with another with an officers baton. Were told that occurred moments later. Eventually School Police and septa authorities stepped in top assist. This all played out after a 3 00 p. M. Dismissal of three area high schools. Septa Officials Say a message on social media urged kids to gather at the aria torresdale station on the market frankford line. Take a listen. They had a fight out here. There was an officer that got injured in the melee. There was two juveniles arrested for that. And then there was another fight around the corner, at another juvenile was arrested for that. Reporter and police say there were officers in that area, there were just not enough for this large flash mob. They do expect to increase patrols in the next few days. A 13yearold girl is recovering from a stabbing in the logan section of the city. Police arrested two suspects shortly after the attack. It happened at broad street and wyoming avenue shortly after school let out yesterday. The teen has three separate cuts to both shoulders and her back. She is in stable condition this morning. Vandals have targeted a mural of former philadelphia mayor frank rizzo for the second time. Several splotches of black paint now cover the artwork at ninth and montrose streets in south philadelphia. Thats been one of the trouble spots for us on the schuylkill this morning because of some construction we had at south street. That has since cleared but you can see the delay remains so this is the schuylkill at passyunk. Westbound traffic coming off at 26th street and you can see how jammed you are approaching passyunk to south street even though that construction cleared traveling really slowly there and you could see youre traveling about 14 miles an hour westbound on the schuylkill an early delay and thats because of that construction that was out there for awhile but its gone near south street. I95 slowing down about 16 miles an hour as youre heading towards girard so youre watching that volume build and the jam starts on i95. Schuylkill elsewhere mostly in the 20s and 30s as we look at that big picture here n conshohocken weve had an accident out here for hours on key street. Thats right at butler pike. Lets go outside live here and this is Deptford Township gloucester county. We noticed a pretty heavy delay. Its thinning though. Northbound traffic was a little slow here approaching deptford and 42 but traffic not moving too bad at this point. Hardly can see anything with the fog. Not so bad in trenton 3mile visibility but in topher only. 3 so the fog is an issue there. The temperature is that 61 headed up to 73. A witness reported two men were fighting along the 2900 block of roberts of a just after 7 00 in the evening. She saw one of the men being forced into the back of a brown minivan. A third man jumped out of the van and took off in the victims vehicle. Police are in the process of gathering Surveillance Video from nearby businesses. And changes are coming to greek life at penn state university. The board of trustees is set to meet next week. Penn states president is promising Decisive Action to deal with chronic problems like excessive drinking and Sexual Assaults at fraternities and sororities on campus. And as youre trying head towards route one on i95, that northbound traffic jams from 31 to federal street. The accident ahead blocks the left lane and the center so really just crawling on i95 in Mercer County. In bellmawr Camden County over here on the turnpike southbound past exit three, construction blocks the left lane. Theyll stay out there until 1 oclock, today you have.
