Heres the kicker. This is the activity i was expecting. We have waves with this spotty activity because the heavier bands have shifted north. Thats why it is happening in some of the areas in janesville and lake geneva. I anticipate in the next hour to an hour and a half it is kind of filling back in. Keep in mind were not completely done, we have this lull to the north and west. In beaver dam and west bend, everything here under a winter storm warning that continues. I have been talking with the National Weather service about their thoughts as well. They are continuing to warning. This is a live look at the road this morning. There was a semi that jackknifed in Racine County, you can see just the remnants of what is folks driving very slow. The snow will continue to fall. Easy to shovel, but hard to drive on. You need to know if you decide you want to attempt to drive outside. I dont see a lot of the cars on the roads. Thats a good thing. I dont want to be driving, folks. The snow will continue in the afternoon and evening. I anticipate us seeing hazardous Road Conditions. Andy we are looking at video, this is i4194, the jackknifed semi. What can you tell us about the accident. A semife jackknifed earlier this morning and it is finally being removed out of there. Injuries involved in that. Andy were seeing travel in the roadways. Should people avoid that road. If anybody doesnt have to drive out there today in that area that would be great. With the jackknifed semi, the lanes are closed. The snow is piled up there. We need an opportunity for the plows to get there and clean the road up from everything that is sitting there. We encourage people to slow down an distance to do their jobs and drive safely today. Andy it is good to remind all of us on the roads. What are some of the things drivers need to think about if you have to head out today. If you have to head out today, make sure all of the snow is removed from the vehicle. They are parked overnight and covered with the snow. And driving for a little bit on the snow covered roads. And covered the back of your vehicle. So clean it off. Turn your head lights on and increase your visibility. And slow down. Nothing is worse or so important you have to speed through something to get somewhere. There is a big difference between the main arterial and the side streets. You can see the plows have been here, the white snow and the snowy. Here is the good news that we just noticed. Snow stopped coming down at this precise moment right now. This might give crews a little bit of time to get the roads cleared. This is a lull in the action here. This person is taking it easy here through the intersection. And d. P. W. Telling us as of 6 00 a. M. So right now they put the garbage trucks, the recycling will sit the side streets. By 7 00 a. M. , 280 pieces of equipment with plow blades will be out on the streets tackling main streets, side streets. So they are just working around the clock. No break for them. Just kind of doing long shifts here today. And just want to show you really quick where im standing the sidewalk, just gives you an example of what you will be trudging through here as you too bad. Snow emergencies are already in affect for several local communities including greenfield, pleasant prairie, burlington and kenosha, water town snow emergency is set to begin this evening. A reminder during the snow emergencies you are not allowed to park your carn in milwaukee winter parking rules are in effect across the city. The four inch parking rule could go into effect today. New this morning, Milwaukee Police say the body of a missing woman has been found. 30yearold Sabrina Allen was last seen on tuesday. It looks like all of the the Wisconsin Elections Commission Says the counting is now 95 done statewide. So far, Republican Donald Trump has picked up 628 votes, and Democrat Hillary Clinton has 653 more votes no serious difference from the original Election Night count. But were anticipating two to four inches on top of what we received so far from last night to this morning. Planning out your day, a live look in franklin, they are making a little bit of snow out there. For some areas we will bet a little bit of a break. Just a a little bit. This may give you time to get the snow offhe next monday rolls around. We will continue to see activity later on this afternoon. I believe this is filling back in here towards the afternoon. Not as heavy as it was by lunchtime, more flurries if you will. This is mainly for areas to the south. To the north, youre still in the thick of it and in the heavy bands. The heaviest band actually did shift a little bit north. I will show you that in a moment. By 4 to mean a. M. Front moves through. And temperatures start to tank after that. So heres what im talking about, the heavy band here south of green bay. It is supposed to be here. The system itself shifted a smidgen to the north. That give the areas to the north a little bit more of the heavier snow we were expecting in Milwaukee County. We still get plenty of it, a lot of locations between four and five inches you saw. This is the lull, but on the radar trend it starts to fill in. Thats what is happening towards the afternoon. Not as much as this but it still is going to be filling in. So i anticipate more snow, not as heavy as it was. But it will be returning. So anticipate that, at least this should give the plows some time to get to the roads. That means when it happens and want to look up at the signs right here. Marshal, if this is you only marshal, you definitely want to move your car sooner than later. And the weather impacts with the roads snowcovered. All throughout the interstates in the area things are looking tricky. Slippery stretches on i94 between downtown and the illinois line. The jackknifed semi is cleared now. And a disabled vehicle. This is i43 north at holt. You want to slow down. A ramp is blocked with a stalled truck from i94 south to wisconsin 20. So be careful. Drive times in the green. But the extra time. Be safe out there. Downtown, 11 minutes. 43 southbound 11 minutes as well. And you want to make sure that safe and be careful on the roads. A winter want wonderland, for the first time the parade. Part of the 12 days of holiday celebration. The parade is open to anyone, vehicles or people who would like to participatate. And the southern part of southeast wisconsin, if you are farther south of 94, this is where we are starting to see a little bit of a break. Little lull in the action. Throughout the next half hour. Because it is starting to fulfill back in areas to the west. If you need to run an errand and go to the Grocery Store really quick. And pickup cinnamon roles now is the time to do it. Get gas and shovels do it. This evening, the snow will be ending. Overall it is lighter in nature. We are still looking at the same snowfall totals between five and eight inches for the entire event. You can see, the temperatures are pretty steady in the lower 30s. I anticipated the snow to pickup again, folks. In the middle of the lull thats good news for you, you might be able to run a quick errand, but make it slow, the roads are not the best. Janesville, lake geneva and in madison, this haop in. Watertowns snow emergency will begin this evening. You are not allowed to park your in milwaukee, winter parking rules in effect across the city. That means the four inch parking rule could go into effect at some point today. If the city puts the rule in effect. You will not be able to park where the four inch signs are posted. If you are parked on a marked street, you could be ticketed or towed. Now, we have been receiving reports of accidents in milwaukee overnight including one this happened after midnight near 20th and highland in milwaukee. The first call came at 5 15 yesterday morning. A 3monthold baby girl, dead inside a home near 33rd and garfield. An autopsy will determine the cause of death. Right now, both cases are being new this morning, Milwaukee Police say the body of a missing woman has been found. 30yearold Sabrina Allen was last seen on tuesday. It looks like all of the counties are on schedule to meet that deadline. The Wisconsin Elections Commission Says the counting is now 95 done statewide. Lindsey the thing about it, the heavier snow band has shifted to the north. So will be more difficult to drive. So know that maybe in Milwaukee County leaving or waukesha, and it might be all right. Dont let that fool you. Because once you get farther north the conditions will deteriorate. You can see green bay is getting more snow than i expected. I didnt think this heavy band so this differently has progressed since overnight last night. We are still on par with what were anticipating with snowfall totals. In the range of five to eight inches. Waukesha is up to five inches. The snow is not over yet. There is a break here, this pocket of dry air that is kind of starting to slowly moisten back up. You can see the snow Building Back in here. That is the cool thing about the radar and the loop. You can see the trends, i like to show this to you. It is very powdery. Very easy to shovel. The powdery snow is the worst time to drive on. The ice crystals are smaller. They skid around and they create a layer of ice. So as youre traveling the may not look bad as youre out on the roads, but it will feel bad on your car and notice this, folks. This is a live look, this is franklin at the rock. They are making more snow and letting the 9 00 or so this lull will continue for some. North of maricopa county, you still have some of the heavy bands to deal with. By the lunch hour, a lot of this activity will fill back in and then have a couple of more hours of light snow. I do not anticipate the heavy stuff anymore. Just light for areas south of milwaukee or south of 94. And north, again still in the heavier snow bands. You can expect more inches of accumulation as a result of that. The cold front moving through. That will be the last push of this snow. And then were done. So then you can shovel the last time and that is it. Because then it will get really cold. So make sure that you shovel. If you dont, you will wait for this to melt. This will not melt. We have highs next week in the teens and the Single Digits. Lows in the negative numbers. The search for the 60yearold man was called off overnight because of weather conditions. It is expected to resume this morning. In Northern California because of blizzards and rain flooding is a major concern. Rising creeks are approaching nearby homes. Officials are saying no one was hurt as a result of the flooding.
