Tuesday night, director samuel selph says the board is not financially prepared to run all the elections in the county next year, which is a state mandate. He says money is needed to purchase new machines, repair current ones and to hire a technician. Selph also made the argument that other counties have a smaller yet have more funding for their elections board. He says money is needed to purchase new machines, repair current ones and to hire a technician. Selph also made the argument that other counties have a smaller population than richland yet have more funding for their elections board. Jesse matthew junior is accused of abducting and murdering Hannah Graham and morgan harrington. A judge sentenced matthew to three life sentences last year, for the woman in virginia. He could face the Death Penalty if convicted but under the plea deal his life would be spared. Both graham and harringtons Family Support the plea agreement matthews hearing is scheduled for later this afternoon. Coming off of two primaries in South Carolina the head of the Richland County Voter Registration and elections board says the board needs more money. Board members are requesting roughly 1. 2 Million Dollars be added to their annual budget, which is nearly double their budget now. Tuesday night, director samuel selph says the board is not financially prepared to run all the elections in the county next year, which is a state mandate. He says money is needed to purchase new machines, repair current ones and to hire a technician. Selph also made the argument thatatther counties have a smaller population than richland yet have more funding for their elections board.
