Good evening, liz. What a horrific accident. All four people went to the hospital. At the time of this accident, firefighters say one of te little boys wasnt breathing and another man lost his leg. A new years eve joyride ends in a devastating accident for several fitchburg families after these two atvs somehow collide on this rural road. The impact injuring all four people, including two little boys. A 6yearold was in respiratory arrest, not breathing. Weve had atv accidents in the past. The problem is theres no protection. Its like similar to a motorcycle accident. That 6yearold flown to Umass Medical Center in worcester. Friends say hes in stable condition. Also injured a 7yearold boy with a severe leg injury. Firefighters say one of the men riding, a 32yearold lost his leg in the crash. With a head injury. Firefighters say this accident was bad. Its unfortunate. It was new years eve and its a tragedy that it happened and people were their lives are changed forever because of it. A family friend said to us this afternoon that now all four are in stable condition at the hospitals this afternoon and they are showing signs of improvement with their friends and family by their side. In fitchburg tonight, kelli ohara. Also tragedy in hanson when a driver loses control hitting a woman. Just before christmas a car crossed the center line and hit the runner. The car also crashed into a utility pole, snapping it. 32yearold amanda russell, a labor and delivery nurse at beth israel was training for the Boston Marathon at the time. She was rush to the hospital but passed away a few days later. A fellow nurse who ran several races with russell will now run the she says russell will be with with with her in spirit. I always hear her voice in my head. Just go for it. Thats the type of person she was. Before the accident russell had raised nearly 500 on a marathon fundraising page. It now stands at more than 16,000. That accident, by the way, is still under investigation. No charges have been filed at the time. New york state getting fired up over fantasy football.
