A Park Forest Police officer is free on bond after he was charged in the death of a 95 year old man. Officer craig taylor shot john wrana with five beanbag rounds, at close range, while trying to subdue him last july. Wrana was threatening officers with a knife at the time and died of internal bleeding several hours later. Prosecutors say taylor used unnecessary force to subdue him. A man charged in two shootings, one fatal, four hours apart, will remain in jail. Joey jones was denied bond, after he was charged with shooting and killing Grocery Store clerk omar maslat at 63rd and western tuesday. Later in the morning, police say jones argued with a man in a parking lot near a Dunkin Donuts in uptown. And he shot brion payne in the back of the head. Payne is unconscious, but stable. The owner of a Southeast Side salvage yard faces felony charges of possessing stolen cars. 29yearold Aaron Adelman owns the yard on east 106th street where Chicago Police have identified 40 stolen vehicles. As with most salvage yards, cars are stripped and sold for parts. The felony charges suggest, adelman knew the cars were stolen when he accepted them. And the big windows that he was raising for we were not able to do. But there were 40 others that needed to be replaced and youre happy to do those. For windows . We replaced 40 windows. We were there as he saw the new windows for the first time. Its nice to be able to see outside. Normally i would think its a super big project and a few days later people are reminded me about it. Its hard to focus on Everything Else. But that actually worked. His work is not done. He has raised. 22,000. For the large classroom windows, the center needs. 28 more thousand. I dont know how long to do it but i am sure we will. The fundraising will continue. Today he was all about thanking the donors. The Community Center has 40 brand new windows with more to come. It was hard to keep the heat in and the draft was crazy. The kids would wear their coats a lot during their homework times. Now we have the jury studio and the girls can be warm making their jewelry in the studio. But that you have fans its a closeknit community. The neighbors contribute to a lot of things. The church has been here over 100 years. We hear all these crazy stories and we feel like theres nothing you can do. Its just bad and that it does nothing to do. But for look to say here is something i can do, i can do this and we will do this. I think for people to know that the innercity is worth investing in, the youth is worth it and the kids are worth listening to. When it all get on board but that thats when things happen just like always when you make a difference, but the windows go on i love the kid. One of my favorite people. That is the Community Center there in humbled park. If you know somebody in the area who can benefit from the afterschool project and they teach life skills care. Kids of all ages have been using it.
