Drivers on 95 in philadelphia are getting an early Christmas Present from penn dot. Workers have completed the i95 expansion project between cotman and bridge stooet interchanges in the citys tacony section. Traffic has called there for years. Three years as workers widened i95 from three to four lanes each direction. The work also included rebuilding seven bridges, adding retaining walls and constructing ramps. This morning a philadelphia man is free after spending a decade in prison for a crime he says he didnt commit. Nbc 10 was there as Dante Rawlins walked into his mothers arms yesterday. A jury originally convicted rawlins of attempted murder in a shooting that left a 6yearold boy paralyzed. Two other men are serving 125year sentences in the case. But the d. A. Says new evidence backed rawlins alibi and cast doubt on his guilt. Rawlins says he feels vindicated. I wasnt there. Cant get no truer than that, i wasnt there. Its messed up what happened to me. Amri is a Tunisian National with a criminal record in that country and reportedly italy as well. Described as armed and dangerous, amri is well known to German Authorities. After arriving in germany in july 2015 amri was put under surveillance for six months, suspected of plotting an attack. This past august Police Arrested him on suspicion of having fake documents but later released him. Amri applied for asylum but was rejected. His deportation set for july never happened because he did not have a valid tunisian passport. All of this adding to the controversy here over chancellor Angela Merkels policy allowing almost 1 million refugees into germany. This morning under increased security the Christmas Market reopened. This is a live look at the market where weve seen visitors and vendors. Theres an increased security presence along with concrete blocks at the roadside. Meantime, an International Manhunt is under way for the suspect wanted in this attack. German authorities are offering a reward of more than 100,000 for information leading to his arrest. The german media is reporting that fingerprints of anis amri were found on the truck used in the attack. The fingerprints were on the Steering Wheel and the drivers side door. Police have said that amris i. D. Papers were found in the cab of the truck. That truck barreled through the crowded Christmas Market at 40 miles an hour. The attack killed 12 people and injured nearly 50 more. The state Department Confirms two americans are among the injured. Police raided several locations across germany overnight, including houses, apartments, a refugee home near the dutch border, and even a swedenbound ferry. But those searches did not turn up amri. Meantime, people in berlin are trying to return to a bit of normalcy. As we mentioned a while ago, shoppers have returned to the Christmas Market that was attacked. They bought food and holiday goods from the huts. But the reminder of the tragedy remains as visitors left flowers and candles at several memorials set up at the site. A senior transition official says president elect Donald Trumps day is again stacked with meetings. Already this morning mr. Trump announced that hes appointing Kellyanne Conway as counselor to the president. She of course is the Campaign Manager who helped him win after she was brought on only a few months before the election. Shes been a frequent presence on the political talk shows and has indicated that she has plans to move her family from new jersey to washington. As Nbcs Kristen Welker reports, the president elect is also weighing in on the berlin attack after meeting with executives from defense contractors. Reporter president elect donald trump trying to show hes hard at work, even at maralago. Meeting wednesday with the heads of two major defense contractors, Lockheed Martin and boeing. Trump previously threatened to cancel boeings order for two new air force one planes, claiming it would cost more than 4 billion. After the meeting boeings ceo now says were going to get it done for less than that. Reporter trump also called the cost of Lockheed Martins f35 fighter jet out of control. He insists that price will also come down. You know, its a little bit of a dance. But were going to get the costs down and were going to get it done beautifully. Reporter earlier mr. Kristen welker reporting. Now to iraq where three car bombs ripped through an outdoor market killing more than two dozen policemen and civilians. Dozens of other people were also hurt in the attack in mosul this morning. Iraq retook mosul from isis militants weeks ago. A Human Rights Organization says isis fighters are now deliber e deliberately targeting civilians in areas they lost to government forces. Two bombings in mosul earlier this week killed four aid workers and seven other civilians. A child died after falling off a closed waterslide in wisconsin. The slide is in a water park that shut down for the season but police say the three children broke in and the victim tried to go down the slide on a sled. He got stuck in the snow about halfway down. Police say when he tried to free himself he fell 35 feet off the side of the slide. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene. This Morning Police are searching for a man who randomly stabbed a tourist in the head in new york city. Investigators have released these photos and video of the attacker. They say the man followed Connor Rasmussen for a few blocks near madison avenue early sunday morning, he then stabbed rasmussen in the back of the head with a steak knife without saying a word. Rasmussen is from washington state. He was visiting manhattan to propose to his girlfriend. Residents say theyre disturbed by the attack. Others say this is a reminder to be vigilant. Thats really scary. I work right here. So to hear that happen is devastating. When youre walking around, new york is new york. The victim did survive. He was able to pull the knife from his head. He required eight stitches and is now back in washington state. A california man is recovering from burns after his ecigarette exploded in his pocket. The man was having a conversation with someone on a city bus in fresno yesterday afternoon when his pants suddenly exploded. The camera on the bus captured the explosion. You see it there. No one else on the bus was hurt. Well, dont expect to be riding around in a driverless uber in california anytime soon. Just hours after uber launched the service in san francisco, the dmv demanded that it stop, saying the cars need a special permit. Uber took the 16 selfdriving cars off the road, but it says the cars are not technologically advanced enough to require a special permit under state regulations. A new report shows more americans than ever are being diagnosed with knemelanoma. Researchers say doctors will have spotted the deadliest form of skin cancer in more than 76,000 people this year and more than 10,000 people will die from it. Right now the risk of developing invasive melanoma is 1 in 54, which is up from 1 in 58 in 2009. Experts say the risk continues to rise despite warnings to stay out of the sun, use sunscreen, and avoid tanning beds. Well, new dads will have to wait just a little bit longer before cutting their babys umbilical cord. The American College of obstetricians and gynecologists now recommend delaying cord clamping for at least 30 to 60 seconds after birth for all healthy infants. Thats double the time doctors currently wait. The short delay has been shown to improve the health of preemies but can also help prevent iron deficiencies in fullterm babies. M. , and then we start to decline to the 30s by about 5 00, 6 00 p. M. For the pa suburbs. Fewer clouds, however. So we are going to remain high and dry at least through overnight friday into saturday. Lehigh valley seeing mid 40s at 2 00 p. M. Upper 30s by 6 00 p. M. And low 30s by 10 00 p. M. New jersey also seeing that nice warming trend. 47 by 2 00 and 49 by 2 00 p. M. For delaware were also seeing some low 50s as well. Your eagles forecast looking like this. Now, keep in mind conditions are mild right now. And we do have that southerly flow. Tailgating time, were going to see temperatures in the low to mid 40s. By kickoff upper 30s but notice here northwesterly winds 10 to 20 Miles Per Hour. By the end of the game well see mid 30s, but because of those northwesterly gusts up to about 20 Miles Per Hour it will certainly feel chillier. Im going to start neighborhood temperatures at 8 00 p. M. , and we can start to see the shift in those winds and pause this at midnight. You can see here that northwesterly flow here right around philly. 35 degrees. But the feels like temperatures as we get to pause there at midnight, its going to feel like the upper 20s. Be sure to bundle up, especially as youre heading out after the game.
