Is it true, could see rain every single day . There is that possibility. The great mat jort majority no. Cooler at the shore than what it is today. Today there is a land breeze. The sea breeze will be coming i both saturday and sunday. Keeping it cool. You can see all the people there at cape may right now, and its in the 70s. Much more comfortable. Showers have been racing through the area. Heres one right in philadelphia itself. Northeast philly, coming across the river. Riverton and cherry hill, and its on the lighter side. But this is what we were telling you was likely to happen this afternoon. And now as soon as the sun starts going down, these showers are going to totally disappear. You can see a couple going near Atlantic City, too. So during the next hour or so, youve got that issue. This is the issue for tomorrow. That system coming through chicago that may produce some showers. Watch what happens here as we go hourbyhour. The individual showers, moving facility, but by early evening, theyre gone, and then we clear out. So we start off the day tomorrow with sunshine, but then some showers come in, in the afternoon. Its 75 degrees right now in philadelphia with the west wind. The wind is going to reverse again as we go into tomorrow. So were going to be basically dry all night, and into the morning hours. Nice start to the day. Nice start to the Holiday Weekend. But some showers tomorrow, and even more as we head towards memorial day. More on the timing of all that in a few minutes. Check out the traffic. Aaa tells us theyre expecting 450,000 philly area residents to travel the Holiday Weekend. Nearly all of those people, you might expect, driving. Many heading down the shore. Were going down to cape may. Going to meet up with some friends and just enjoy the weekend. On the beach. There will be 30,000 philly residents taking to the skies. Um almost 5 from last year. The kickoff, summer continues the next 2. 5 hours. Its 4 15. And the physicalever hoagie nation think Holiday Weekend and you dont have to go to the delaware beaches to have fun in the state. First, Philadelphia Police say theyre investigating a suspicious death involving a 6weekold baby that happened in southwest philadelphia. Investigators say the baby had head injuries and dont know how he got them. Were on the way to the scene and will have a live report as soon as our reporter gets there. More breaking news now in detroit. Look at this video. Just in to the nbc 10 newsroom. A bus has crashed right into a building. You see the majority of that bus is inside that building. The front end is inside, seven people on that bus. We can tell you, they were injured in this crash. Meanwhile, victims of an Early Morning charter bus crash felt injured, stranded and abandoned when it took hours for a bus company to help them. 32 people were hurt when a bus going from new york to atlanta was hit by a tractor trailer on the new jersey turnpike. Victims taken to hospitals across the area. That crash hatppened around 12 45. The company said another bus would pick them up for the rest of their jur journey. Nobodys doing nothing. Reporter what do you mean . Nobodys doing nothing for us. We out here stranded. People who werent hurt were picked up by another bus to continue to travel south. And a new look at the deadly Helicopter Crash in delaware. The scene today. Penn star medical chopper crashed in new castle. What we know about the investigation now. The wreckage was removed this morning and ntsb investigators sifting through the debris. A preliminary report to be released in ten days. The crash is hitting close to home for our nbc 10 family. Mike murphy died as his medical Helicopter Crashed during a training exercise. Murphy not only flew for penn hospital was our backup pilot for nbc 10. We have more on murphys story. Mitch . Reporter mike murphy a guy who made anni impression. Well respected for his skill in the cockpit, also for his kind nature and senses huger. Sense of humor. His life was built on helping others. Everybody knows everybody. Reporter pilots like this one respected his skills. Shock. Disbelief. Cant believe it. Cant believe it happened. Reporter as a medical helicopter pilot, mike was training to sharpen them when he crashed. He was an excellent pilot. He was knowledgeable. Meticulous. Thorough. Reporter mike murphy had been flying ems five years and had more than a decade of experience. He was 37. A family man. With a 2yearold. And another baby on the way. He was also part of our nbc 10 family. Clear. Reporter our sky force 10 backup pilot. Thats your biggest fear. That its someone you know. Reporter dan kent flew with him three years. You pray for murphs family, his wife and kids. They have a big support group. On the report at 5 30. Reporter when you flew with mike up knew he loved it and how seriously he took the work. He was a phillies fan. Yesterday, mike murphy the only one killed. The only one onboard. Some investigating the scene suggest he crashed here to avoid hurting anyone else. Its a possible final selfless act for a man who dedicated his life hurrying to help anyone who needed it. Its almost surreal. Just almost cant believe hes gone. And right now we still dont know why mike murphy crashed and expect a preliminary report by the end of the week. We do clearly know the impact he had an his colleagues and friends including all of us here at nbc 10. Something we all thought about. Talked about it yesterday. Perso. Youve flown with him . A handful of times. This truly, as we said in the piece, a fraternity. There are only so many pilots doing medevac, doing news coverage, doing police duty in the sky and all of thieves guys rely on each other for each others safety and you get to know these people pretty well. Were not going to be getting as warm in many areas, especially on sunday. So the wind is from the west today. So its 73 here. 73 summers point and ocean city and north cape may. Even Cape May Point is 71. As the wind shifts and becomes a sea breeze, its not going to be that warm. Weve got some showers on saturday, but more rain on monday. As well get into the details in a couple minutes, but at the shore, the sea breezes will keep temperatures only in the 60s. Saturday, sunday and monday, and showers mainly on monday. Next week drier and warmer. Not exactly the best timing, but there are those small showers coming through. That one little one, just south of wilmington. So they may be able to play without getting rained on, but those are small showers. Moving pretty fast. So this was in philadelphia just ten minutes ago and now its already down into burlington county. Now, this is a more significant system. Theres actually a tornado watch in a portion of illinois and indiana with this. A small, compact, fastmoving system. And so we got to time it out here as we go through the night tonight, clearing. And its not all that chilly. Tomorrow morning, start off with sunshine, and then the clouds come in from the west along with some rain. Theres 9 30 in the morning, and at least this is one computer model bringing in some of that rain in. Not talking about widespread rain or big thunderstorms or anything like that. But especially between, say, noon and 4 00 that would be the best chance of seeing some rain on saturday. And then into sunday, a different story. Sunday, wind off the ocean. So it will be a cool day, and then this area of rain. That may start to come in by sunday night. And so thats the concern for memorial day itself and tammy will tell you about that. On sunday a little cooler along the beaches for the entire weekend but look at monday. Yep. Everybody has a chance of a shower on monday. And theyre going to be dying out in just a couple hours, as soon as the sun starts going down. This is the area were watching for tomorrow. Were going to track this all the way across. The timing does put it into at least a part of our area by tomorrow afternoon. These are the tiny, little shower, and hour by hour, you see them dying out, and that will set us up for a clear night and a sunny start to the day tomorrow. 75 degrees right now.
