Stabbing incident took place on campus earlier this morning. Officials say a student plowed into a crowd on campus with a car and then jumped out and started stabbing people with a butcher knife. That suspects, an 18yearold ohio state student, police say is a somali refugee who was a legal permanent resident of the united states. Officials do not have a motive at this time but do say the attack was done on purpose. Police say they sh that suspect. I heard multiple gunshots. I wasnt sure if it was real but i looked out the window and saw that it was really happening. Its not real. You go gnome. Its not supposed to happen. Sorry. [ crying ]. So yeah. Its scary. It was really scary. We barricaded ourselves in our we just hunkered down. A very scary morning for folks on campus. About 66,000 students attend that school and then you have professors and all sorts of other people working on campus. 10 people were taken to the hospital after those stabbings. One is in critical condition. The initial incident was reported as an active shooter situation but the suspect did not shoot anybody. Police say the campus is now secure and canceled for the rest of the day. Again, just a tough situation there on the Ohio State University campus this morning. Back in colorado, the truck driver accused of killing a state trooper over the Holiday Weekend drifted while driving, hitting the trooper. 41yearold no good has release ruiz has appeared in court today. According to court records, the semi driver crossed the solid white fog line and hit cooper cody donahue. The driver immediately pulled over. Investigators revied the video from the semi and the troopers car and it appears the semi drd hit the trooper. The funeral for the trooper is set for this friday. Denver public works conducted the sweeps focusing on park avenue west and lawrence street near the site of the sweeps that happened just about two weeks ago. During the sweep, notices were distributed telling people to clear their belongings of the sidewalks. Mayor Michael Hancock says the cleanups are needed to keep denver safe and sanitary. Wisconsin, michigan, pennsylvania are three states where election recounts could happen as early as this week. Thursday and has to be done within 35 days of election day. We are also hearing that Green Party Candidate jill stein filed for a recount i believe in pennsylvania. Now she, jill stein has raised 6. 2 million from that recount so far. Now that the recount has been initiated in wisconsin, Hillary Clintons campaign intends to back it they say. They say they want to see a fair process for all. Potential jurors are being questioned in the federal Death Penalty trial of a man charged with fatally shooting nine africanamericans at a South Carolina church.
