Marty, there was a little bit of break in the strong winds yesterday but it sounds like its windy there today again. Its windy especially this morning. The wind is out of t which will clear us out. We wont be quite as hazy around here today as we have been the last two days because the wind direction has shifted for us. Here this morning, we started with some really Early Morning showers. Now we have about 50 50, clouds and clearing sky. This is how things are shaping up down south around the junkins fire. Wind gusts are strong in and around pueblo. Well keep them up 10 to 20 miles per afternoon, then decrease late in the day. Humidity levels dropping into the teens and 20s, which is not fantastic for firefighters; however, temperatures will top out in the 50s today which is a big advantage in trying to fight that fire. Smoke has been an issue especially around Colorado Springs and pueblo. Our northerly winds keeping that smoke to our south so actually sky conditions look a little bit a few clouds dotting the landscape as showers have moved off to the north and east this morning. It was wet about 2, 3 00 this morning. That rain is done, and now shifted off to the north and east. But we do anticipate showers forming again for parts of the front range later in the day. Ill track those for you here in a few minutes. Were getting up in sky9 at 6 02 over the Commerce City commute in the south and eastbound direction a stalled out semitruck near the 76 interchange and were down to two lanes getting through, possibly three, but everyone is getting around the semi. It is pulled off to the shoulder so it will back up to i25 quickly. The i25 stretch coming in from the north end, no delays out of thornton and fort collins. You should be fine. Travel timewise even with our stall southbound 5 at evans were doing okay. Than 15 minutes. Across the board, no crashes to worry about. Traffic light malfunction at central park boulevard. During a Campaign Stop in Colorado Springs donald trump says he wants term limits for members of congress. He says a House Limited to six years and senators should be limited to 12. It has been a republican state and kaine will be campaigning for her in kickoff event and then heads to springfield for an early vote rally. It is one of the problems with mailin ballots. Somewhere, someone, will get two ballots. We hear about it every election year. If it happens to you, here is some advice. Dont vote twice. It is illegal. One woman in pueblo received two ballots in the mail. We expect to hear similar reports between now and the election. It came from Peterson Air Force base. The 150,000 gallons of water contain cancer causing pfcs. Utility workers knew about the spill within 25 hours but it took five more days before People Living in the area found out about it. The contaminated water went through a filtration system; however the filters do not stop pfcs. The water ended up in fountain creek. Investigation and cleanup going on in several town south of Colorado Springs near the air force base now. It is now 6 08. Rtd has had so many problems with its new train to the plane that its putting a hold on the opening of its newest line. The g line was supposed to open this fall but it wont happen. Were at Union Station, and theres a looming deadline for rtd to get the problems fixed. Reporter and that deadline is just a few weeks, november 5th. Rtd says the a line, the train to the plane, runs 87 of the time but they say that is simply not good enough. 18,000 people ride that a line, the train to the plane, every day, and its meeting its ridership goals but there have been problems over and over again. They must fix problems with the a line before they can open up the g with the fix for the problematic crossing gates and the train speed control system. Those issues have caused the train to the plane to shut down several times since it opened up in april. We know it went through testing over and over again but theyre still seeing some of the issues and we have to fix that. If the deadline of november 5th is not med rtd says it could have to temporarily top the train or use buses to meet up with government standards. I know something many of you dont want to hear.
