Prosecutors later dropped those charges against the doctor after his attorney showed it was knapp who took then bulk of the insurance policy. Galvaz traveled to his native country of ecuador, not thinking he was a suspect, but after the doctor was freed, authorities went looking for galvaz, and in 2014, he voluntarily return told the United States. Nearly 90,000 homes and businesses lost power for seven hours.
