And so you can drive up to the table if you need to be a little closer, a little further away to be more comfortable. The seat actually moves forward and backward i think up to 6 inches or so. So you can adjust accordingly. And thats actually movable by the bluetooth as well. So if, you know, you need to move somebody closer to the table or further away, either way it works. And so our last device is literally bionics. Yes. This is from xo bionics. It is used for rehabilitation. This is actually the first fda product that is approved for rehabilitation in terms of strokes and spinal cord injuries. Thats what makes it super unique. It will literally get people standing up who cant normally stand. It augments the ability to walk. And eventually the hope is that people will use these devices during the rehabilitation and eventually walk right out of them. Its a brave new world, isnt it. It is. We were talking about the device that comes and travels with you. We were saying i love that because when i lived back east for 20 years, at the time when my parents were here in the east bay, we didnt have face time or skype. Now you can control it from your end at your house and say lets make a cake together. And then follow them into the kitchen. There is a statewide Health Warning for shell fish caught off of the california coast because of a toxic algae that caused a lot of problems starting late last year. This time the warning is for different types of shell fish. Leah. Reporter good morning. Were talking to local commercial fishermen who received an email from the department of fish and wildlife and they think their situation could be a whole lot worse with potential closure. I will have more on that coming up. First we want to explain what the toxin is. Now, the crabs and shell fish are on the danger list for now because of an acid, a natural occurrence caused by an algae bloom. The level is ten times higher than normal. Specifically the warning says people should not eat any raw crabs from Half Moon Bay and people should not buy shell fish caught by recreational fishermen in monterey bay. Unless they were caught commercially. The acid poisoning can cause flulike symptoms. But higher levels can cause seizures, heart problems and even death. We are at pillar point harbor. We will be talking to a commercial fisherman with the tm vessel. This is don marshall. You are one who received an e mail and what exactly was it saying. Well, the department of fish and wildlife was advising me in lieu of a closure, there was an advisory from the department of Public Health to not to eat the shell fish from Half Moon Bay and areas that they have already opened with clean testing. They are talking about closing and advising not to eat the raw crab and other Seafood Products from those areas because theres a possibility that theres high levels of acid. Despite the fact that some of the testing has brought clean results. Thats why were fishing. We have been selling thousands of pounds of these crab to the public. The public is happily eating them and coming back with no reported incidences of illness or death or memory loss. I have been eating the crab on a weekly basis and havent had any issues. My concern is that this acid has been present in the crab in, you know, levels going up and down naturally for years. Its a naturally occurring toxin in the crab. Everybody has consumed it. I really think that its been blown out of proportion. And that the department of Public Health and fish and wildlife need to get a hold on this before fishing families suffer and we dont have any fish for the winter. Thank you very much. We will be staying on this. Again, theres an advisory from Public Health telling people not to eat this raw crab or shell fish coming from monterey bay and Half Moon Bay. We will have more on that coming up. Leah martinez, thanks. Motivating teens with technology. We have this space that is just for us, designed by us. I think thats cool. Theres a new reason for san jose teenagers to visit the library. Its the work of a group of teens called the ground breaker whos have designed a space that will give young visitors a place to call their own. It includes a gaming lounge, a hangout zone and a Recording Studio. Also a maker space that has 3d printers, laser cutters, sewing machines and a whole lot more. My whole idea for the space is a place for teens to come and feel like they own the space. And that theyre exploring things that may have never had a chance to do before. We have the childrens room. And adults have all eight floors dedicated to them. This space is designed for us for us and i think thats cool. And its set up to only people between the ages of 12 to 18 can use the room. Teens didnt get everything that they wanted. Apparently they wanted a firemans pole too. They might be able to live without that one. Theres plenty to keep them coming back and trying new things. We talk to the Vice President of marketing for the Better Business bureau and he has interesting new data that is finding interesting trends. Its a pretty common belief that seniors are targeted more than other groups by scam artists because scammers think they will be more trusting and easier to persuade. Im joined by jared weiss who says that new data is finding interesting trends. You have this scam tracker up and going. We have it for about an year now. Were noticing that seven out of ten individuals reporting to scam tracker are under the age of 45. What do you think about seniors, what is protecting them. They are savvy individuals. Seniors are savvy. They take their time on things. Millennials are going to this point and click generation. Theyre on the computer and clicking and not really looking and researching the information. But seniors were noticing are taking the time to research the information. Thats really important in avoiding the scams. Theres been an Education Campaign to say ask them questions. Dont just hand things over. That Education Campaign is making a difference. It is. Unfortunately now that my lineals think they have been safe, it is retargeting towards them. Now we have to retarget the education back to the millennial generation and let them know that scams will affect if you they havent already. The irs scam is still popular. That is the biggest one with the senior group now and the younger generations. That wont end. No seniors have lost money to the scam thats have been reported to us, which is interesting. That is interesting. Theyre catching it. Theyre catching the information and realizing, you know what, this isnt real or legitimate. Their family has told them about it. They really know its something that is out there and something that they need to avoid. Are there any new ones to be aware of. There are ones still affecting them. The lottery scam is a big one as well. That is a new one because it always changes shape. Someone will say you have won a prize. And you have to call back right away. Or you have to invest money to get your prize. Are they getting to us in different ways, the phone or the internet. With seniors it seems to be the phone and inperson contacts. With the younger generation, its social media and email. There are differences in the two groups in that kind of sense. The big thing is that the scammers will find ways to contact you no matter what. The frustrating part i think is that theyre coming from international locations. Theyre really hard to stop. So you have to protect yourself. Give us the best tips. If it comes from a legitimate number, it could be spoofed. Even though it comes from a local number, it still could be from overseas. Do your research. Take down their information and ask if they have a badge number or any kind of identification. And then call the irs back directly or call the company back directly. Yeah. If its too good to be true, hello. Let it go. Or if theyre trying to scare you. Yeah. My sister is getting calls from the irs every other day saying that you owe this or that. Or not the irs. She is legitimate and she is going to shoot me after this. Frank, why are you saying that. 9 47. Just be aware. Rosemary, how is our day looking. Shaping up nicely. Im beginning to see the clouds clear out of the way. Mostly cloudy around the bay. Warm inland. A live look from San Francisco across the bay. Were still covered in the clouds. The marine layer is right about 1800 feet. A little deeper than yesterday. The on shore breeze starting out stronger as well. As a result, the cool pacific air is being pumping inland. Here is a look at a twohour time lapse. You can see were already pulling back. Around the bay we continue with the cloudy skies. At the coast as well and portions of the north bay. We will continue to see this erode. Partly cloudy to mostly clear away from the coast. Santa rosa still in between partly cloudy skies. Petaluma, san rafael, you are clearing out nicely. You get over to the Richmond San Rafael bridge and we have partly cloudy skies. And the east bay shoreline covered in the overcast sky. Areas that started out with the clouds have cleared. Fairfield, 18 Miles Per Hour with the on shore breeze. This morning we started at about 30, at least the gusts were to 30. It has pulled back a little bit. 62 in fairfield right now. 61 in oakland. 58 to start your morning San Francisco. And over portions of the north bay, 59 santa rosa. Afternoon highs for today, love the 70s. Were going to have a lot of 70s around areas of sonoma. 76 in napa. 73 in petaluma. Unfortunately at the coach, not a lot of beach weather these days.
